Brava House is in a wonderful location: Whole Foods, great shops and restaurants, wine shops, laundry, convenience stores. Although it's on a very quiet street, you can walk downtown in a few minutes. Well-priced, clean, nicely furnished - the hosts were helpful and hospitable, and the in-room book was extremely helpful. We look forward to returning to Austin and Brava... More

I have stayed at Brava House twice and enjoyed both stays. I travel for business and prefer to know i am in Austin when i am in Austin and Brava house is old Austin. it's on a beautiful treed street within long walking distance of downtown and within cab distance if you enjoy too much music and too many micro... We stayed here May 22 and May 23, 2010. Everything was nice - accommodations, breakfast, but just average. It was costly and nothing lacking, but nothing special also.

Our 4 nights in the Garbo suite could not have been better. The suite was clean, spacious, so quiet and absolutely charming. Breakfast during the week was plentiful - yogurt, fruit, breads, coffee and juice. Weekends brought out an egg dish with the standard offerings. The dining area is simple and spacious, or you can eat on the patio or... More

When my husband had to attend a conference in Austin, I decided to tag along and turn it into a business and leisure trip. Rather than staying at one of the pricey Austin-area spa resorts or a downtown chain hotel, we opted for Brava House, a locally owned B&B. The location is great - walkable to everything you'd want to... More

In-room booklet was very helpful for leading us to numerous great restaurants, regional wineries in the hillside and historic homes in the neighborhood. Central safe location. Easy to get around and within walking distance to some interesting places.

Nice location near the downtown area in an old part of Austin with many historic Victorian homes from the late-1880's. We stayed on the first floor and our room was comfortable, although there was a slight musty smell. The breakfast was a bare bones continental affair; nothing to write home about. All in all, it was just an average B&B... More

We enjoyed our stay, the room was without the frilly decor that is sometimes associated with B & B's. We were within walking distance of downtown, and the bed provided us a great place to rest our feet. The proprietors were friendly, as were the other guests. We would love to return in the spring to enjoy the beautiful patio.

My wife and I loved this Victorian home-turned-retro-B&B. The old house has been well-renovated while maintaining period-style finishes. The rooms have themes, ours was Casablanca, dressed up with dark hardwood, ironclaw tub, and a mosquito net over the large bed. (not to mention, air-conditioning) The location was ideal, near South Lamar. We walked to Whole Foods and shopping, though the... More
