This is a clean, safe, comfortable place with comfy beds and reasonable rates. Mostly, I just want to say the staff at The Highlander are awesome. Everyone we dealt with was super-professional, efficient, pleasant, and chill. And when I left my laptop cable in the room, they kept up with it and patiently took multiple phone calls from me as...

Based on the reviews from this site I was scared to stay here. I did not make the reservations and was just hoping that the place did not gross me out. Check in was wonderful and the staff was fantastic. Oh before I forget there are no elevators and I preferred the second floor. The hotel decor was indeed purple...

We stayed at the Highlander for SXSW!! It is in a great location, not too far from the hype. It was clean, amazing deco and nice customer service. The only thing I wish they had was someone walking the premises, only because in our Building (2) the smell of weed was CA-RAZY!!! I think I woke up high as can...

It's comfortable, friendly, centrally located. If it was a little bit better maintained - the kleenex box and toilet paper holders were half hanging out the sheet rock, it would feel less shabby. We stayed a second unplanned night. I prefer fancier places but sometimes budgets intervene. This place is really pretty good for the price. I'd stay again. Safe...

I stayed at the Highlander for SXSW. It worked out really well. They have Car2Go right in the parking lot. If you're traveling to Austin and want a quick cheap way to get around, I'd recommend Car2Go. Make sure you download the app a couple days ahead of time so they have time to clear your drivers license. The hotel...

This obviously newly renovated hotel has a great staff (we loved Q and Vanessa especially!), is clean, and the beds are super comfortable. It was a great location for our purposes in Austin. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again.

I stayed at the Highlander hotel for 4 nights while visiting my boyfriend in Austin. As the other reviews and photos state, there ARE pink sheep everywhere. I loved it. My room was clean, my bathroom was clean and it was very quiet. The breakfast was yummy. They had mini breakfast burritos, yogurt, bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal, etc. The staff...

We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. First off - love the colors and the sheep. That was a neat touch. The rooms are your basic hotel rooms in terms of amenities, and you can go to the desk if you need a toothbrush or any other little thing you've forgotten. Now, here's the bummer part: the restrooms aren't...

such a fun place to stay! breakfast was awesome, not the typical hotel breakfast! great for young adults who are in Austin for fun, but still quiet enough for if you happen to be in town with family or for business! our neighbors did get a little rowdy at one point but we didn't really mind.

Great place to stay. I love the pink sheep and the story behind it. Breakfast Taco's were good as well as the coffee! Bed nice and comfortable. Bathroom nice. Close to Austin and staff was very welcoming.
