So it is February and covid is still going on so we got a killer room rate. Parking was $50 which hurt a bit but the room price was so good I didn't mind. They had live music in the lounge area which was great. The room was clean, was beautiful, had a great view, and the location was perfect! The room was quiet even though Rainey street was below us. We were on the 9th floor. We were able to text the staff which made communication easy.

This hotel look amazing and we booked it based off of the website and pictures. Upon arrival we were shocked to see the entire hotel had scaffolding around it and major construction going on. The pool was completely closed and was being used as a construction staging area. Upon check in, there was no mention of the construction or these details. When we go to our floor there was active construction including paper and plastic taped to the floors and walls. Workers were using carts to move items in and out of rooms directly across from my room, slamming the door each time. The construction starts at 7am sharp with drilling and banging. I can't believe that they would even think about renting these rooms. After two days of no sleep, I had to check out. The initial Front Desk Agent seemed so beaten by guests complaining I felt bad. She even opening told me that she wanted to quit. I then spoke to the manager who was helpful but also seemed like this is an ongoing normal complaint. I felt bad that Kimpton would allow this to happen and have their employees take the punches to increase their bottom line. Complete bait and switch.

Dear Scott_S9090, We are very sorry that your stay was negatively impacted by the exterior renovation. We have updated our booking channels and website to help increase communication regarding this project. In general, we have been able to locate guests away from the most impactful aspects of the project, my apologies again this didn't happen with your stay. We expect completion in April. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Nick

We absolutely loved this hotel, from the charming lobby to the cozy beds we will stay here every trip to Austin! The location for us was the best, we walked up and down Rainey a few times, yes its a college area but were early 30s and enjoyed it! The staff is excellent, you're welcomed with a water or beer and a complimentary happy hr from 5-6. The rooms are very comfortable, it has a little Austin flare in it which we enjoyed, awesome shower and beds. Geraldine's is inside of the hotel and it was perfect for a night cap and listen to some blues before heading to bed. (Make reservations) Also, there are tons of scooters and bikes to rent to zip around on its maybe a 5 min scooter ride to 6th, was nervous at 1st but once you get the hang of it they are super fun to zip around town! (Bring hand sanitizer though) All in all great hotel and cant wait to head back for another little weekend getaway! Sidenote there is construction going on and the pool area is closed until Feb/March early evening we heard a little hammering from one of the rooms but ended early and did not bother us at all!

We had a meeting here and stayed just 1 night. Really loved the room and the service from staff. Valet manager James was so nice and really made me feel welcomed! Loved the happy hour in the lobby too! Sioux (not sure if that spelling is right) was prompt and helpful during check in! Loved our stay here!

Stayed here whilst visiting a conference and working. Lovely and clean, very comfy beds and a great atmosphere around the hotel. Lots to do around the hotel, plenty of restaurants and bars, and as I discovered a straight walk to the Longhorns stadium!! There were a few issues with my bill as I was paying for some nights and my boss paying for others, but we got it sorted in the end.
