This hotel was lovely - exceeded my expectations. The room was very large and comfortable, with two vanity sinks - one in the bathroom and one out, which made getting ready in the morning with my teenager much easier. Fitness center and pool are AMAZING, and included in the price, as is the delicious and varied full breakfast. Staff were...

The Martha is an old place, and I mean very old! Hardwood floors, hand rubbed banister rails, intricate carved wood work. It has some creaks and groans, but that's part of the character of this hotel. If you want something different from the same old Hampton/Courtyard/Fairfield/etc, give this a try. It starts with the Free Valet parking! Stayed just a...

First time at the Martha Washington inn this week and I am already planning the next time I will be back! My boyfriend and I stayed one night to break up our road trip and we were upgraded to a bigger room for free (thankful I have a tall boyfriend) and the king bed was lovely. The whole hotel has...

The Martha is a beautiful old property with an interesting history. Each room is unique, furnished with antiques. You get an idea how old the building is when you walk into the lobby and hear how loudly the floor creaks. Our room was on the 3rd floor (or maybe it was the 3 1/2) - we rode the elevator up...

A friend recommended we stop in here on the way to our nation's capital, and we had a delightful stay. The property is unique, the staff warm and friendly, and all in all a most pleasant visit!Abingdon is a charming little town brimming with colonial history, and has a theatre, the Barter, that provides another good reason for a stay at 'the Martha"

Stayed on a Sunday night, taking advantage of their special which included room, dinner with bottle of wine and breakfast. It was great. Food was good and wine selection was too. People at front desk were very helpful and suggested restaurant for lunch and directions to local brewery. We will definitely go back Actually, I would give 4 1/2 stars.

My wife and I love visiting haunted places. We love the thrill of not knowing what to expect. The Inn is a beautiful place with an intriguing story. The place was originally a Confederate Hospital during the Civil War. That alone is an amazing story! There are pictures and bits of history throughout the hotel. We did not witness anything...

This place is awesome!. The folks there are friendly, and made the weekend just great. The rooms was great as well. The building is historic and therefore old but there have made the most of the structure. The bathrooms are tiled and the shower was really nice.

Gorgeous architecture, rich with history. Beautiful, heated indoor poor and huge, amazing hot tub. Great restaurant with very good food. Our room was attractive but the smallest hotel/inn room I've ever stayed in. The rooms vary from what I've been told so I would recommend inquiring about the size of your room if that is a concern.
