I do like the upgraded look of the RI at this location. Bigger than some other ones I've been to. Staff were all nice. Facility/Premise was very clean.
Like that it's near dining, drug stores and small local markets for your personal needs. Metro nearby.
Indoor pool with lifeguard was noted. Perk: Compared to other RI's this had ample amount of washers & dryers which was great and no 'line' to do laundry.
The biggest thing I'd advise or recommend for improvement are:
There are no trash cans noted indoors to get rid of waste unless you're in your own room or in the garage/basement. This was very annoying.
Again, comparing to other RI locations I didn't like that coffee / tea station was unavailable or not placed 24-7 in a local spot. It was only offered during breakfast time for a short duration. This was my biggest negative that I didn't like. Yes, I know it's in my room but still like having different options.
Lastly, the housekeeping staff were not on top of things at this location compared to others. I'd call front desk and they never show up at time of wanting service and was difficult coordinating having a toddler with sleep schedule etc.

Located right above the Court House metro, this hotel is in a really convenient location for access to DC and Northern Virginia. There are tons of restaurants and shops nearby too.

The staff was helpful and friendly. Currently, they are cleaning rooms every other day but would be happy to provide daily service if requested. I would say the room was comfortable and well-organized. It’s especially convenient to have a full-sized fridge with ice maker. It would have been nice if they provided dish washing liquid. (They likely assume the dish washer is sufficient!!) But the bed was comfortable and the kitchen/bath modern.

The breakfast was far more varied and of higher quality than many hotels at this price point. The gym was good and clean. The pool and hot tub were great but the hours are somewhat limiting for anyone wanting to use it for morning exercise.

We stayed here during my business trip to DC in early April. The location was convenient to my meeting venue and to other DC sites. As a titanium elite member, I requested an upgrade to a one bedroom suite but was told there was none available. I asked if there was one available at any point during our stay and was given one after our third night. I am allergic to down feathers and bedding so I always request feather free rooms. The first room they gave us was fine but the second room was not feather free so we had to wait a little longer than expected for the room to be ready. We were able to work remotely from our room as it was relatively quiet and comfortable. Kermit Turnquest, the operations manager, was very welcoming and accommodating upon check-in. He made sure the pool opened at some point during our stay as I informed him that one of the reasons we selected this property was because it had a pool. Overall, I recommend this property for its convenience and comfort, especially if you work remotely during your stay.

We are Marriott Platinum members and booked this hotel as we wanted to visit our recently deceased 2 star general marine grandfather the following day at Arlington Nat'l Cemetery. We saw they were dog friendly so booked the hotel expecting maybe the normal $25-$50 dog fee on top of our reservation cost. We got there to find out its $150 plus $20 cleaning fee plus tax. Thats around $175 total just to bring our dog. at that rate, she should be getting her own room! We were told its a fixed fee so we went ahead and booked a different hotel. When they realized we were cancelling our reservation, they told us they could do the fee for $100. No thanks. Instead we booked at Westin arlington gateway which was $0 dog fee and they upgraded us to a suite for being platinum. Thats how you are supposed to treat your top-status loyal guests!

Dear James G Thank you for contacting us about your experience during your recent stay with us. As you described in your statement, our multi-million renovation combined with the special cleaning needed when pets are involved drove our pet fee up. It is still competitive when compared to other hotels in the area. I understand how frustrated it could be to have to pay extra for your pet, being a pet owner myself. In rooms details segment on our website, you'll see our pet policy and fees. I can assure you that we will share your comments with our ownership team. Upholding our commitment to provide excellent services, please feel free to reach out to me directly whenever your travel brings you back in the area for any special accommodation. Sincerely, Romeo Adankpo Front Office Manager Residence Inn Arlington Courthouse 1401 North Adams Street Arlington, VA 22201 (703)312-2102 T (703)248-9616 F

Chose hotel for price, proximity and pet friendly designation.
Arrived after midnight and forced to sign pet waiver form that charged $100 pet fee which was not mentioned either upfront when reserving or on confirmation. Pet fee was greater than my room rate!
What was mentioned on confirm was $16 parking fee. Night clerk had me sign a parking form that noted a $22 fee.
Signed both forms under duress and noted my issues and clerk said manager would be there in am to address both.
Upon entering room it smelled of pungent takeout.
I also found a bobby pin on bedroom carpet and safety pin on bathroom floor.
Spoke w/ manager in am. She reduced parking to $16 and pet fee to $50 on the spot and agreed to check the website to see if fee was clearly stated or not then reduce further if not. Two days later, no follow up.
This sneaky pet fee, even if somewhere in the fine print should be disclosed prominently upfront as no one would choose a $90 room that really costs $190. And why disclose what parking costs and not pet fee which is over 6x more?

Although the location is convenient, the Residence Inn Courthouse is decidedly below Marriott standards. In pre-CoVid times, we had always been pleased with the Clarendon Blvd location (1 mile closer to Rosslyn), but that venue is no longer Marriott owned. You could get a hot breakfast there, but not so at the North Adams St location, which offers only “grab & go”. Bed linens are done only weekly. The room was hot and stuffy at night; the AC apparently not turned on. Our TV remote stopped working, and 3 calls/visits to the front desk were necessary to remedy the problem. Lobby is drab and un-inviting. Desk personnel cold and un-helpful. This facility is decidedly below Marriott’s usual standard. We’ll not return.

Front desk staff were courteous and friendly at checkin and out. The lobby is very nicely set up and can accommodate multiple groups at the same time. The breakfast is very nice for a RI, real plates and real silverware, food was hot and there was a good variety of items. The breakfast room is large and spread out so your not on top of other people. The rooms are the standard RI. I alway have to remake the bed as the sheet and blanket are 3/4 of the way up the bed so if you laid down it would only come up to your chest versus up to your neck. The hotel is under reconstruction at this time, though there really was no that much noise. But the rooms on the 323 side you could hear the elevator all night long so if your a light sleeper you may want to ask for the other hallway. Curtains let in a great deal of light at night so beware if you light sensitive. Bed was a bit saggy where it had been well used. AC/heat worked well. Shower is standard bath tub versus walk in shower. Toilet was higher than most making it easier to rise and sit - I know it sounds weird but did you ever notice those toilets that were made for toddlers! Couch was a bit saggy as well. Kitchen was adequately stocked with dishes. So over all it's a standard RI. What made it exceptional was the friendly staff.

I think I've found my new favorite place to stay while in D.C. Located a little more than half a block from the silver and orange Metros (and 20 min from D.C.), you've also got a choice of several cuisines and shops, a 24-hour CVS, and an AMC movie theater within a 2-block radius. Internet leaves much to be desired (but I find that to be the case at most Marriotts). All in all, a good value.

METRO INFO: Use the 3rd car from back TO the hotel if coming from Amtrak or the airport to the Court House stop. Use the elevator to the right after getting to top of FIRST escalator. Make a left when you get off the elevator. You can either continue to the corner, make a left after Fireworks Pizza, and enter thru the North Adams St entrance or make a left at either of first two opportunities to enter Courthouse Plaza (and explore the restaurants and shops on the way) and enter thru back of the short lobby. I found it to feel safe even when traveling at night.

This is a very conveniently located hotel, great staff and nice amenities. The hotel is about a 250 yard walk to the Court House Metro station, there are restaurants and shops very close by and way more within a 10 minute walk. Breakfast each morning was typical Residence Inn breakfast, nice variety, seating was a bit tight as the hotel seemed full almost every day. The only downside was for our son, the pool hours are limited, Arlington had a law a lifeguard must be present to open the pool, and the hours are 5pm to 9pm daily and 11am to 9pm on weekends, so we were limited to when he could swim. It's a nice indoor pool but with limited hours it also got packed with families during those weeknight hours. Parking is a garage underneath, it's tight but very convenient and $29 a day is about on par with city parking rates.

I brought my granddaughter to DC for the weekend and chose this hotel because they had a hot tub, pool and full breakfast. The hotel was in a quieter area and it was easy to get around. The buffet breakfast was very good (eggs, waffles, cereals, bagels, etc) and the dining area was very clean. Kudos to the employees tending to this area. They were friendly and did a great job. Parking was $25 a day and the parking garage was not clearly marked as to where to park for the hotel. Check-in was fine: not a warm greeting, but adequate. Hot tub was super foamy. My complaint is this~ Who goes to DC hotel on weekends? FAMILIES. Why do families chose this hotel? For the accommodations. So why in the world would you have the pool and hot tub open after 11:00am on weekends, when checkout is noon?!? Breakfast ends at 9:30, and if you want your kids to be able to swim, you basically have to wait until 11:00 am on weekends to let them go for a quick swim AND be out of there by noon. My suggestion-On weekends, to accommodate families, open the pool at 9am.

Yes all those things are in your room . Also there’s a farmers market every Saturday morning just a block away in the courthouse parking lot. Also a Whole Foods in walking distance , to supply the ingredients for these meals you’d like to cook.

I was able to fit a full size work van so I would say yes. It is a little tight down there though. So have a back up plan. There’s parking along the street and other garages close by
