Nestled in a historic hotspot, the Majestic Inn and Spa is lauded for its sumptuous linens and breathtaking views. Guests celebrate the attentive staff and the pristine cleanliness that extends throughout the elegant and charming atmosphere of the hotel. While it commands a premium, many feel the exceptional service and prime Old Town location close to an array of attractions justify the expense. However, some guests have pointed out minor setbacks with room noise and light leakage.

We have stayed at the Majestic many times (including hosting our wedding reception there) and they continue to be at the top of their game. They made all the accommodations appropriate for this time we are living in: reassurance of the cleanliness of rooms, all staff wearing masks, food delivered to your room or at an appropriate social distance in the dining areas, etc. We felt very safe and continue to recommend this lovely place. We will be back!

Nice hotel overall, but environmental factors impacted our stay. Room was not air conditioned (which was clear from website), but weather was unusually hot, and our room faced the afternoon sun. Even with windows open and ceiling fan running full blast, room was too hot to enjoy during the day. Temp in room did cool off once the sun set, fan running, and windows open. But street noise from outdoor restaurant below was a problem until about 10pm. Also, air quality for the region was especially bad due to west coast forest fires. Health officials recommended staying indoors with windows closed, but that would be unbearably warm in this hotel. Of course, none of this is the fault of the hotel, but good for future guests to know. Hotel staff were very kind, professional, and helpful. Enjoyed crab cakes from the restaurant and they were very good. Also enjoyed excellent coffee in our room using hotel French press. Might visit again in the future, but only after the weather cools and the skies clear.

Hello ssbbcc, Thank you for leaving us a review! I appreciate the time you took out of your day to leave us this feedback and for pointing out that we have a very informational website. We are happy to assist our guests in any way possible to make sure they have a comfortable stay, I just wish we could control the weather! We have portable A/C units available by request and someone is at the front desk 24/7 to assist you with any requests you may have. We also offer centralized heating and air conditioning in our contemporary building that was built in 2013. I am so happy you tried our crab cakes, they are 100% dungeness crab and delicious! Thank you for staying with us, we are looking forward to hosting you in the future!

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the centrally located Majestic Inn, staying in a Grand Suite King in the newer contemporary building behind the original hotel. We loved the ambiance, friendly staff and well kept accommodations. We were even provided fresh ground coffee upon arrival to use with a French press in the room. The spacious room had a gas fireplace, couch and kitchenette with fridge, stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Plus there were plenty of dishes, plates and cooking utensils. The bed was comfortable, although the mattress was a bit firmer than we like. Pillows were better than most hotels with loft, and bedding was quality. The decor is lovely, Wifi a bit slow but ok, and the AC was nice. The older, original "Historic" hotel's rooms do not have AC which is one reason we chose the :Contemporary" building. The only "negatives" would be the traffic noise from the street below (we were on the 3rd floor overlooking the main street) and the bathroom floor needing a good scrubbing around the edges. There was a basket of overpriced snacks and drinks including wine with a price list. Nice restaurants were easy walking distance.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and if in Anacortes again we would definitely stay here. I suggest getting a room away from the main street and up high to cut down on traffic noise.

Booked a romantic getaway for a Saturday night. Ordered up the Romantic Package, blindly, and let's just say--they knocked it out of the park with the attention to detail. Rose petals looked as they were each individually placed throughout the room, versus being just tossed without care. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to enjoy longer and enjoy the hotel, restaurant (which was closed but room service is available), and the town of Anacortes.

Within minutes of arriving into our room, the front desk called and asked if everything was good in the room. Amazing! Watched sunsets from our 4th floor king suite. Went to the Rooftop lounge each night for drinks. Enjoyed the gas fire pit while watching sunsets. Great location for walking around Anacortes. Very clean room and all the staff were extremely nice and helpful. We will return here on our next trip.

Unexpectedly, we found that we needed a hotel room in Anacortes. We had always thought that staying at The Majestic would be fun so when opportunity to book arose, we paid a premium price over other options to stay at this hotel in queen bed room. The staff gave us heavenly smelling coffee to use the next morning in the French press in the room. The coffee was good.

Unfortunately, a number of other things were not good, and the staff provided no remedy or compensation for these misses. First, the room has shutters that do not completely close. Because of the gapping shutters, the room is quite light all night long. The excessive light is further exacerbated by light coming from smoke detector, clock, and tv. The walls apparently have no insulation or sound reduction because we were played by both voices and other noises from rooms around us. We complained about the loud talking to the staff around 11:30 pm. We also heard excessive foot noise from the room above the next morning. The most inexcusable problems were encountered the next morning when showering. The hair conditioner pump didn’t work, and the body wash container was empty. I called the front desk when I got out of the shower, and told them about the lack of expected products in the shower. They did nothing, and made no attempt to remedy the problem or provide any kind of recompense. A hotel that purports to be upscale should be more responsive. We also told them about the problems when we checked out.

Came here for my girlfriends birthday and picked one of the nice and smaller rooms since we were only staying one night. The view was great and everything was PERFECT except we couldn’t get our DVD player to work. When I called the worker at the front desk, she immediately came up with a new DVD player but it still wouldn’t work. It would have been totally fine to stay there but she immediately went to one of the best rooms in the historic building, tested the DVD player there, offered us a free upgrade, AND offered to move our stuff for us! So nice! New room was excellent with an excellent bath and a balcony. The lady at the front desk did nothing have to be so kind but it goes to show just how excellent the service is here! #giveheraraise
All in all a great stay, no matter what room you get!

In spite of our snow storm, we celebrated my birthday at the Majestic this December. This property is a favorite of ours and we immediately felt welcome when we arrived. The staff is wonderful - all friendly and efficient. We typically stay in the historic building and love it's beauty and charm. Room, as usual, was perfect, complete with a birthday gift from Mary and the Majestic crew. Location cannot be beat - within walking distance of several great restaurants - two of them on the property. View is great from every direction. I cannot say enough about this hotel. And a special shout out and thanks to Mary!

We were hesitant to head out for a weekend away from Black Diamond, WA. We have been following safety guidelines and didn't really trust that others would. We were also wondering how vacation life would feel while masked. We were very pleased by the cleanliness of the facility and friendliness of the staff, and around town. Everyone wore their masks and/or kept distance as appropriate; and this did not feel weird, as I had worried about. We had a great time.

The only critical feedback that I have is about communication regarding dining. We enjoyed rooftop happy hour but had limited options for drinks. I wish the options would have been listed somewhere. The food menu was transparent, but we were surprised and a little disappointed about the drinks. Additionally, I made reservations for our family for dinner and when we arrived downstairs, we were ignored for 5 to 10 minutes. Reflecting on this, I think it was a miscommunication about where we were supposed to wait. At the time, it was very frustrating and we ultimately left and had dinner at Adrift, down the street (delicious, by the way).
All in all, we will recommend this place and might return someday!

We booked the San Juan Grand Suite King Kitchen unit for 2 nights. The cost was more than we normally pay but it was our Anniversary and it was so worth it. The room was large with the mini kitchen, desk and sofa. The bathroom was large and the entire room was spotless. Modern design and helpful staff. Location could not be better. Tons of restaurants and shops around the building. The bath products were high quality, only wish the shower was walk-in. We loved the view. Breakfast is not included and I did not realize it because we could have brought yogurt, fruit and pastries. They do have a lovely restaurant and bar. The roof top terrace is outstanding with a million dollar view.

There was a thermostat in the room, but since it was snowing that day, and we have lived in Key West for the last 20 years, A/C was, honestly, the farthest thing from our minds. I can swear the heater works, but I can't promise the A/C does.

The ferry terminal is 2.5 miles away from the Majestic Inn & Spa. The Guemes Island ferry is only a very short walking distance away from the hotel, but that is not the main ferry terminal.

Hi Karen, we are 20 minutes away from the tulip farms. Country Cycling has an amazing biking tour of the tulip farms, and San Juan Airlines has an incredible tour from the air. Cheryl's Northwest Tours and Recreation Without Borders offer more traditional tours. If you have your own car, it is very easy to tour the tulip farms on your own as well.
