My friends and I stayed here for a ladies retreat weekend. It was wonderful! We were looking for a quiet, relaxing, outdoorsy place to spend our time. We were not disappointed. This resort was just what we were looking for. We stayed in one of the large main houses with a large kitchen-we needed space to cook for 15 people...

Guemes Island Resort is the kind of place you don't come across much any more: quiet, rustic, and incredibly scenic. When I'm stressed out and feeling spread too thin, I imagine that I'm back at the resort losing fishing gear in the surf and waiting for my homemade bread to rise back in the cabin. It's a place where time...

Manager Holly and all the staff were incredibly flexible and supportive at our three day family celebration at Guemes Island Resort. We warned our East Coast relatives ahead of time that this is not a cushy hotel, but a comfortable family environment, and they adapted! ( There are several new units that are, indeed, cushy, even with steam showers! The...

Our family has been going to Guemes Island practically every summer for years. It is a revamped rustic fishing camp turned into a family vacation spot. Part of the charm of Guemes is the laid back feel and the lack of urban amenities. It is more like very cushy camping than going to a five star hotel - but they...

This is one of the best family retreats in the Pacific Northwest. We love the cozy cabins with real fireplaces, the long beach walks, the trips to the "mountain" up the great trail made by Skagit Land Trust, the kayak trips right off the beach, and most of all the the mornings and nights of quietness, stars, mist and fantastic...

Since visiting guemes island resort we are constantly telling other families from around the country to go there. It is my idea of a perfect family vacation. The experience harkens back to what I imagine the resorts in the Catskills to be in the '50's. The setting is breathtaking. The houses and cottages are nicely appointed with everything you need....

I absolutely loved our stay at Guemes Island Resort. It's peaceful and beautiful and totally unique. It isn't your typical cookie cutter resort with restaurants and poolside bars, so if that is what you are looking for, maybe its not the place for you. However, if that is what you tend toward, do yourself a favor and do something a...

We will definetely be coming back. What a profoundly charming, peaceful and relaxing place. This is not your corporate resort experience but instead a place owned and run by caring locals. The staff was pleasant and helpful but not at all overbearing as can sometimes be the case with smaller places, The property is full of unique and thoughtful touches...

Everyone knows that you only get one chance to make a first impression. My first impression was that the Guemes Island Resort looked more like a practical sporting retreat with rustic camping rather than a resort. Everything following revealed that they need to learn about hospitality etiquette. First of all you don't charge a guest the full amount until they...

“bring your own food, and woodstove skills if staying in a cabin. Check the ferry schedule before you leave.. No TV's in cabins, so bring some good conversation, cards or games, or go to the Rec Room.”

“If you want a new cabin, pay a little more for beautifully built and furnished one bedroom spots. There are two large houses, too, for big family groups. The Salish House is lovely and modern. The older cabins are right on the beach, and perfect if you don't mind somewhat older construction. The wheel chair accessible cabin worked beautifully.”

“Cabins and houses have views but are more expensive. Yurts are much les expensive and you can always walk down the trail to spend the rest of the day at the waterfront if you want.”
