My side of the family camps once together every year, but last year we decided to stay in yurts at guemes instead to accommodate babies/kids and me being pregnant. We (9 adults and 2 kiddos and one dog) all loved the resort. We stayed in the four 16" yurts and used the picnic shelter and fire pit for our meals....

Seriously -- Guemes Island Resort needs alot of work and personally i don't feel comfortable staying at islands that don't have real grocery stores and hospitals. there's nothing for good children to do here at guemes island

My husband and I had a much needed weekend getaway to Guemes Island Resort in early December. Stayed in one of the two newer cabins with it's own private hot tub right outside the back door, literally 2 or 3 steps and you can get in and warm up! The wood details in the new cabins are so beautiful. They...

We loved staying in the yurts at Guemes Island Resort and can't wait to go back! The yurt was spacious enough for me, the husband, his teenage son and our two dogs. The yurts had electrical plugs and heaters which we made use of. We had a great time walking along the beach and watching the sunset. It was a...

What a wonderful vacation spot! Guemes Island Resort was the perfect place for our family to experience the San Juan Islands. The setting is beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Very family friendly. We stayed in the 20 foot yurt, which fit our family of five just right. Very clean and open layout with one queen or...

Last summer I was lucky enough to share a week long stay in one of Guemes Island Resorts yurts with my significant other. The Yurts are a great alternative to the wonderful beachfront cabins, in which we have stayed on previous occasions. The yurts were situated peacefully in the woods above the beach. Each yurt has a private deck to...

What a great place to call home for 5 days! The location & views are amazing. The accommodations are fabulous. The management & staff are all wonderful & treated us like family. The crabbing was great, the food in town & on the island was all good. Really enjoyed the relaxation of days that included strolling on the beach, taking...

My family had a fabulous trip to Guemes Island Resort. The staff was friendly, professional and always timely to our needs. Our cabin was exceptional: comfortable, killer views, styli with a hot tub and steam shower... nice! They even dialed in some crabbing and a pod of orca to round out the experience. We'll be back as soon as we...

this resort exceeded every expectation I had. the staff was resourceful, kind and professional, the location was unbelievable, and the cabins were exquisite. we stayed in the newly built cabins, and enjoyed reading books in the outdoor hot tub while birdwatching, sleeping on the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and using the kitchen equipment and comfortably as...

Having traveled the world, staying in fine luxury resorts, to small quaint boutiques... this vacation ranked up in the top 3 vacations. We stayed in the new cabins — which had the high-design eco flair, complete with private hot tub and steam shower. While those can sleep up to 4, I wouldn't ever share that cabin with another couple just...

“bring your own food, and woodstove skills if staying in a cabin. Check the ferry schedule before you leave.. No TV's in cabins, so bring some good conversation, cards or games, or go to the Rec Room.”

“If you want a new cabin, pay a little more for beautifully built and furnished one bedroom spots. There are two large houses, too, for big family groups. The Salish House is lovely and modern. The older cabins are right on the beach, and perfect if you don't mind somewhat older construction. The wheel chair accessible cabin worked beautifully.”

“Cabins and houses have views but are more expensive. Yurts are much les expensive and you can always walk down the trail to spend the rest of the day at the waterfront if you want.”
