This is a typical Japanese hotel located on top of a hill about 1.5 km away from Hamamatsu Station. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms are clean, though a bit dated, but quite spacious by Japanese standards.

I was invited for a business dinner to the restaurant of the hotel. The staff was really nice and polite, the table (in a private room) was also nice and fancy. I can't speak about the prices because I haven't seen the menu nor the prices since the dinner was on the other company. The food was really good, we... More

It has been a long time since I have had the chance to stay at such a retro, unkept, outdated, smelly hotel. Transistor radio and all built into the furniture. The only thing upgraded was a small LCD TV. The only reason we stayed here is the tour group said it was a 5 star hotel and it may have... More

We stayed here one night on our tour of Japan and found this hotel somewhat impressive from the exterior and the public area. The grand atrium is strictly out of the '70s. We found the rooms to be very outdated even the size was acceptable for Japan. There was nothing that impressed us during our stay there. Perhaps the price... More

The carpet in my room was extremely dirty. Frankly I think it is unacceptable. Although the bathroom was quite clean, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Reconsider if you are going to book this hotel.

Returned for just one night to the Grand Hotel Hamamatsu after 26 years and it felt like travelling back in time because not much had changed. The reception area was basic but check in & check out was swift. Staff were helpful and friendly. The glass lifts overlooking the Atrium are probably the main feature of the hotel. The rooms...
