Detailed Reviews
Great place, ideal for families as it has really big outdoor spaces where your kids can run and enjoy their time. The owners are really friendly and considerate, they assisted us with anything that we needed. The rooms are not luxurious but have all the necessary amenities that one needs. Besides we barely spent any time at the room, we spent most of our time on the lovely terrace overlooking the sea and enjoying fine delicacies. The rooms are cleaned daily and our towels were changed daily. The breakfast was great and we also had private secure car park for our van included in the price (mind you it is really difficult to find parking spots in sarande. Also 10 min walk to the centre. Overall a great hotel and great owners, we would definitely come back.

The owners who run this hotel are lovely people and so hospitable, among the most hospitable I met. The hotel is not luxurious but it is foul of soul and warmth. It has the necessary amenities everyone needs, most of the time we were not even inside the room. We only used the room for sleeping and showering. The hotel has private car park which is a must (especially in Sarande where everyone drives in a chaotic manner). The rooms are very clean and comfortable for what they are. The breakfast is different everyday. It is only a short walk to the centre. Our favourite spot was the terrace overlooking the sea where you could enjoy your coffee or food.

Great place, amazing family running the hotel, felt like home. Delicious breakfast, rooms cleaned daily. We loved the terrace overlooking the sea. Private secure parking (really rare in Saranda). Great experience overall ! We will definitely be back

Our 3 night stay in Sarandë was made so much better thanks to the Kalemi family. We were two families (4 adults and 4 children) travelling by car towards Croatia and used Sarandë as a stop over and we are so glad we did. The hotel is ideally situated with its own private beach and only 1km out of town so within easy walking distance of everything. The real magic in this place is the Kalemi family themselves. We were fortunate that the whole family were there and from the moment we arrived we felt like part of the family. Warm, welcoming and authentic people and they created an atmosphere that suggested we were guests in their home rather than at a faceless hotel. Cannot recommend this place enough and we wished we had longer. The son Costa (El Capo) organised us our own private boat trip up the beautiful coast and this was in keeping with the ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude. Great food and comfortable accomodation that won’t break the bank. Amazing and we will certainly be back. Thankyou Kalemi family.

First of all you can’t even call it a Hotel,it’s more like a Guesthouse. The owners are terribly rude people, the lady and the boy at the reception are so shamelessly arrogant. Breakfast is poor and with bakery remains of two days ago. We left everyday food in our plate(though it was scarse in quantity),it was really inedible. The place which served as a kitchen where the food was prepared, was a tiny dark hole, suspiciously higienic, where the cats went in and out. The linens are of synthetic fabric, old, only the first day you find white cotton ones. The towels are old, extremely used. Since the very first day I was really surprised of the high rating the property has on web, wich is totally not deserved. But during the stay I got the trick- they developed a complete different attitude towards the clients who had booked via wellknown web booking agencies, fearing the reviews. It was really frustrating and hilarious at the same time watching such a differentiation, even in small things like coffee or cappuccino( the second was considered special treat for the ‘special’ clients). We had booked by phone, and payed for the entire week the first day of arrival,if not i wouldn’t have stayed a single day more. Ok,its not a big deal some lacks in menagement ,but the indiference and the rudeness and even the arrogance in dealing with people is unacceptable.

From the first time you enter this hotel you can understand the professionalism and kindness of this family. Kalemi’s is a small ,cozy hotel with amazing architecture, located at the best location of Sarandë literally above the sea. The music they play is fantastic, and it is the only place where western values and quality of service are observed. The family that runs the place are adorable and always willing to help, it’s a place where every single day is different and full of new adventures. A place that we will come back for sure.

The owners are friendly, the location is great. The private beach is nice and the hotel is sweet. However our room was a total disaster. The bathroom was flooded all the time, the shower was broken and there was no hot water. The room service was 3 days in a row not in our room, the linens were stinky and the mattress was stinky also. They have changed the linens when we asked but the smell remained. The air condition was really good, the wifi terrible. The breakfast was average.

This hotel is a two star one, being very generous with stars...
It does not have a lift and if you have heavy luggage, good luck with rooms on 4th floor.
The rooms are very basic and the mattress is hard. I found the bed with one sheet only and had to ask the reception to bring the top sheet.
The fridge was unfrozen and the room floor was covered with water from the unfrozen fridge.
We had the room with a sea-view balcony (very nice view to be honest) but the balcony had a rough parapet that could scratch the skin easily.
The bathroom had no division for the shower and the whole bathroom would get soaked when showering. There was no holder for the soap or shower gel in the shower, and no holder for the shower head.
The breakfast was composed on only one dish: the local “burek”. We were lucky the owner agreed to prepare some scrambled eggs for us.
On the positive side, the seaside and the beach is beautiful!

We were two families and stayed at Kalemi's Beach & Hotel for 7 days, i wish we had more days. I have been travelling a lot throughout my life and yet i have never met so friendly and hospitable owners. They were there for us organising anything we needed, serving us delicious homemade delicacies always with a smile on their face.
A very hardworking family, we were amazed as to how they could be so positive even though they worked all day non-stop. The hotel itself is a lovely building with spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms.
The hotel has a lovely terrace with great seaview where you can enjoy a nice cold drink and food on the grill. Also it is worth mentioning that it is the only place within the area that it is an actual hotel as all the surrounding properties are ugly faceless apartments.
We will definitely be back!
