El Refugio is located in the deep valley situated among several tall cliff sides. The lodge is located in a very unique and special location. It is not easy to reach the lodge. There is a somewhat long drive from Santa Cruz then inward from the main highway on a very bumpy road. Then at a certain point you must...

We spent two nights here on the southern end of Amboro National Park, arriving around 10 am one morning and being able to stay until 2:30 on the day of departure. As such we were able to enjoy the luxury of time spent hiking, bird watching and relaxing. The lodge rooms are simple, but comfortable, and there are hammocks and...

An amazing place to stay. 360 degrees of breathtaking surroundings. Beautiful jungle walks, river swimming and waterfalls. It is an amazing place to go to, to relax and get away from city life. Basic accommodation but clean a wonderful family who cooks and takes care of you. I will definitely be visiting again.

This was the perfect place to relax after a busy week. With no wifi, there were no excuse to not unplug. We did three treks, through waterfalls, up mountains all guided by locals. The views are stunning and the food was amazing and fresh.

This place is a fraud. it is NOT situated in the national park of amboro as stated by lots of people and tour agencies (I'm talking of Nick's Adventures for example). The guide provided is a joke, doesn't speak or know anything! The walking tours are done within a few hours. Admittedly the landscape is beautiful, yes, but after a...

This is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend away! The drive up towards Samaipata isn't too pleasant and it gets bumpier once you're off the main road, but this place is totally worth it! The accommodation is basic, however it is clean and you have exactly what you need. There are plenty of hikes to go on, waterfalls to...

Its a bumpy ride for the last couple of hours but so well worth it. The location could take your breath away. A pasture with a few well built accommodation blocks set near the river surrounded by stunning verdant mountains ringing with birdsong and calling parrots with soaring condors overhead. The rooms were excellent considering the difficulties of access and...

Words will not be enough to describe the Beauty of this location! It's one of the most beautiful places in the world I have visited. We arrived there from Santa Cruz with a tour organized by Nick Adventures. The road that goes up to the lodge is an adventure on its own , but we enjoyed it very much thanks...
