Inn right on the sand with good quality service, very helpful staff. The big difference is that the owner of the inn is attentive to everything. The inn is well decorated, although it needs maintenance and furniture renovation to make it more comfortable. In the pool area, the furniture is quite worn and a renovation would make the inn an upgrade. The inn has the potential to be one of the best in Ilheus. Reasonable breakfast. Service was a little slow when ordering menu items. Reasonable cost-benefit as in high season the daily rate is high for the standard.

The experience there is always good!! We like it a lot.
However, I think you need some maintenance in your rooms and bathrooms. They are with morph points . On the walls, both of the room. As for the bathroom. And in the bathroom of room two is with the tap damaged.

We flew our clients to Ilheus so that they could go to the Txai Resort in Inacare. I found Pousada Dos Hibiscus via Trip Advisor and couldn't be more pleased with my choice. The owner, Luka Ukmar and his staff treated us better than family. The hotel is clean and comfortable, yet simple by Western standards. Don't expect the Waldorf Astoria and you will not be disappointed. It has a nice pool area, outdoor bar and restaurant and direct access to a beautiful, white sugar-sand beach. 100' south along the beach, you can rent a surfboard for $5 per hour and practically surf out the back door. The swell is not great, but definately rideable. The restaurant fare is simple, local and delicious! The chef's prepare each meal individually with great pride, so expect to wait 45 min - 1 hour to eat after ordering. From what I saw, Pousada Dos Hibiscus was head and shoulders above anything else. Everything I was looking for to relax for a few days. And...the price was good too! Enough....gotta take a swim!

We have found this small pousada on the beach to be clean, well run and very, very pleasant! We stayed 6 days - breakfast is typical brazilian fare, nicely presented. The small restaurant in the hotel prepares a limited menu from scratch - fresh whole red fish, beef with onions, etc. Staff is very friendly. The only problem in our vacation was being robbed of our cell phones while walking on the beach the first day we were there (off the hotel site). But even the robbers were polite and only wanted the phones - not cash or anything else. The hotel staff was very helpful in dealing with the problem though there was little anyone could do. Would definitely recommend to other travelers who want a quiet, adult, atmosphere. Not good for families with active children.
