The hotel isn't a bad place to stay at all. But some relevant issues must be known to avoid surprises. 1) Location: close to a highway that separates the hotel lobby from the beach, traffic can become a problem for those who enjoy silence. It is also an issue for those who are traveling with kids. Porto Calem Praia Hotel is far from downtown where restaurants, pubs and other services are located. So walking to those places is not a comfortable choice. 2) Hotel services: My expectation was to find better services at the hotel, specially considering the lack of choices in the area. But eating, buying clothes or finding a drug store will require a expensive taxi ride. 3) The room: good size with old appliances and same maintenance issues. Beds are not very comfortable. 4) Food: regular at the most. Very few options to choose from at a very expensive price. Breakfast is basic but satisfactory. 5) Staff: friendly. 6) Poor wifi connection in the room. Only 3G for mobiles and only a few TV channels available. …
At this hotel nobody speak English...this is the big problem if you don't speak portoguese....the wifi is very bad, poor breakfast so I think its better to looking for something better....before you choose hotel in porto seguro....
My wife is from Brazil and always raves about the place, so I deided to visit her city Porto Seguro and absolutely loved it. The hotel was really good value for money with friendly staff and clean facilities with a great pool bar and fantastic breakfast. The hotel is a stones throw away from great beaches and the city centre. Make sure that you visit Eco Parc when you are there as that was by far the best water park I have ever been to and the kids want us to move there :-)
