When the taxi dropped us off outside the pousada it looked like a derelict building! But what a surprise!!! Inside this pousada/hotel is a stunning old colonial building with original floorboards and beautifully furnished. The breakfast room has awesome views of the bay from three huge windows. We were upgraded to a loft room which had two levels. Bathroom and...

I booked this place through ebookers.com, a site I had never used, because I was having problems booking through my normal channels. Their reviews of this place were good, the booking.com reviews were generally good too and I didn't find the place on tripadvisor because it can be called different names (hotel, pousada, colonial or not). I filed a scathing...

We were quite pleased overall with our four nights in Hotel Chile. The views from the public balcony and the dining room are what you expect from a hotel that costs three times as much, and this alone makes it worth the stay for the bargain traveler. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is good with friendly, competent service....

We stayed here during the World Cup 2014 for four days; one of the few establishments that had rooms available. The hotel is not located in a particularly safe area, so be aware of this be prepared. However, the old town (the only part of town worth seeing) is just a short walk away. Tip: when leaving the hotel, you...

We loved our stay! We arrived 4am and were told by the reception person that there is no room available till 12pm. He also told us that we can not lie down on the benches. But when we asked if we could go for a walk, he paniced and suddenly told us that there is a room available! In the...

We loved our stay. The reception staff were very helpful and informative. This hotel has the perfect location. Directly opposite the bus stop, adjacent to the famous elevator with stunning views, 5 minutes walk to the main square and church. Good selection at breakfast with lovely views over the water. Definitely value for money. The rooms are simply furnished but...

First, the photos of the breakfast room and its marvellous views are the only authentic thing about this hotel; the rest should be forgotten and never to be seen again. Our room was dirty and looked like a nightmare from 1970s East Germany. Linen and pillows were made of polyester with an extra plastic lining inside the bedding, providing an...

We got to Salvador in the middle of the night (flew from florianapolis) and we didn´t have a place to stay. We went to the hotel, where the reciptionist helped us with a double room (and even gave us a small discount). He then helped us buy a ticket on the ferry to Morro de Sao Paulo and came with...
