This is a small property, it is a two level building with 16 rooms, a bar, restaurant and small pool. The place is very clean but also very basic. At the time of our stay (my son and I), we were the only guest. This in some cases could be good and in other, not too good. Every morning, we went to the restaurant for our included breakfast and a table for two was already set. They had fruits, juices, milk, cereals, breads, yogurts, coffee and tea. No eggs or any other breakfast dish so, it was more like a continental breakfast. The best part about this place is it's location. There is a door in the back next to the pool. When you exit, you'll find yourselves right at the beach. This beach is amazing, clean and in a huge bay. All you see is the fishing boats and the huts of many restaurants. We had lunch at one of this places and their food was awesome and very affordable. We had each a red snapper (1 Lbs. each!), with rice, beans, salad, 4 beers and one coconut water, served in the coconut with ice and lemon sherbert. all this for $18.00 plus 20% tip. Now, the town and the area where this hotel is located is not the usual or something that everyone will feel comfortable with. First of all, is one hour from the Fortaleza airport and half the drive is okay, the roads and streets are your average kind of Central or South American type but then things change drastically. The roads turn into dirt, clay roads in poor condition and the landscape around is sort of desolated. As you get closer to the town, the houses are in bad shape and the streets look the kind of streets you would not want to walk around even during the day however, things turn out to be very safe and the people very humble but friendly. On the first morning, we asked for soap. We were told that they did not have any! The desk person told us where we could find it as well as many other items if needed. We are a well traveled family so we can deal with all these things easily. We feel very comfortable at 5 star hotels and do not mind staying in a 2 stars or tourist class hotels/posadas/hostels, etc. Once you are in the hotel, you should not have any problems, as I mentioned, the beach is amazing, safe and clean. They have many beach activities and a couple, family or young adults will have an awesome time once the shock wave passes. I imagine that during the weekends and high season, this place looks much better and service will also improve.…
It is a rather quiet place and if you’re looking for peace (and not so much luxury) you might be happy here :) My room was ok although I wish the light bulb had been more powerful. The building is from the Brazilian modernity period, which translates into Eastern European block of flats look. The air conditioner was unnecessarily loud and emitted a suspicious smell, but you can get used to it after a while, I suppose. The food is very good but can start feeling monotonous after a while. Excellent nearby beach – not very developed, which translates into general calmness. It’s worth buying one-day trips in the city centre – they are much cheaper than at the reception.
