My boyfriend and I had booked this Pousada and despite being a little concerned after reading previous reviews we had a very lovely stay. The hostel itself is hard to find in a taxi and isn't in the best area but we felt safe the entire time. The staff were always very welcoming and helpful and thanks to google translate we communicated well. There is an all you can eat restaurant nearby where we ate at or we brought food to cook from the small market nearby. For the price the room was very large and the pool was big and always kept clean. We did find some insects in our room the first night but again for the price you can't complain. Would recommend!

This hotel was our first experience in South-America and it was one to remember... Villa Vecchio is located in a very unsafe neighborhood in Fortaleza. The road to the hotel is unpaved and makes it difficult to find, even for our taxi driver. It is very close to the beach Praia do Futuro, which is actually quite nice, but do not take out any phone or camera, because it definitely makes you a target in this dangerous city. We hoped the hotel would be better. After paying for our stay, we asked the hotel owner (in our best Portuguese) where we could find a restaurant (it was 6 pm) and she told us everything closes down at 6 pm, so there was no place near where we could go for dinner, since the hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant. We walked outside and we found out why everything closes down at 6. The streets were very dark, a lot of homeless people were walking around and we felt really unsafe, so we just went back to the hotel. Back in our room, we wanted to take a shower and go to bed. Instead, we saw that we had made a few friends in our room. There was a frog in the shower, and a few moments later there were 2 giant cockroaches wandering around in the room. On top of that, the floor was full with termites. Conclusion: cheap hotel room, but in an unsafe area/city and don't be shocked with insects in your room.…

Had booked 2 nights in this pousada, we felt so welcomed from the first minutes we arrived there!!! The lady owner is such a lovely person and always aiming to help you! Our room was spacious and clean, the little garden-court is absolutely cute and well decorated with a nice swimming pool area. The pousada is situated very close to the beautiful Praia do futuro, about 2minutes walk. City center is 15mins away by bus (Cab recommended at night) and there's a place next door which allows you to do your laundry or buy the first necessities. Very good overall, would definitely recommend!!!!!

The place is in the middle of nowhere, unsafe, no a/c, no food or drinks nearby. The street is not paved, and taxis don't want to take you there because it is unsafe. Do not take any chances here. The owner charges the whole stay when you book, because she knows you will leave the place once you arrive and see it.
