We spent a week at this hotel and were very dissapointed with our overall experience. Total darkness in the lobby at night, one specific staff member was very unpleasant to deal with and even fell asleep in a hotel lobby chair after midnight, WiFi ONLY in the lobby and not in the rooms as announced on hotel website, rooms are spacy, but dated and not clean (there is mildew all over the bathrooms). Towels came with some dirt spots. Housekeeping was missed after the first night, toilet was clogged. The beds are ok, but have only 2 pillows and no blankets. Breakfast is not bad, but some hot items were cold and some cold items were warm. Location is nice. There are much better hotels to go to in the same price range.

My wife and I stayed here because our normal Fortaleza hotel was fully booked, and we were pleasantly surprised by our new discovery. As the name "suites" suggests, Plaza Praia gives you a bedroom and a lounge/diner for the same price as other hotels charge for just a bedroom!

The staff are helpful. We reported an inefficient air-conditioner and they had it sorted within minutes. English is spoken very well by the receptionists (not always the case in Northeast Brazil). Breakfast was well presented with a good choice.

Plaza Praia is literally two minute's walk from the sea front and the bus routes to the shops, but because it is on a side-street behind the Hoilday Inn it seems less busy than the hotels on the main drag.

We noticed many airline staff staying here, so I guess that is a guarantee of a good night's sleep, since they will need their rest between their long flights.

There is also a wonderful Italian restaurant immediately next to the hotel (but not a part of the hotel). The swimming pool is on the rooftop, with wonderful views, but its nice location meant it was more suited to relaxing, and not so much for swimming for exercise.

Excellent choice and good value. We would have given 5 stars if the room decor was more up-to-date.

We stayed last year at the Holiday Inn which was great but due to the World Cup we couldnt book it so we booked this expensive hotel. I do not recommend this dirty hotel especially the rooms. We never got clean sheets or even on our pillows very disgusting. The only day we got breakfast 15 minutes to 10am they did not serve more so we only ate bread. For the price it should be a lot better but very outdated and dirty sheets. Look elsewhere.

The worst Hotel I've ever stayed in. In the first room they gave us, there was a very old and noisy air conditioner that kept turning off. Because of that we were moved to another room on the first floor. It was smelly, the bed sheets were kind of yellowish, there was no natural light whatsoever and 2 out of 4 beds were broken. The breakfast was insufficient for the amount of people. By around 9 AM there was not even coffee. After complaining about the broken beds, they tried to put us in another room which was as bad and dark as the second one with old air conditioners. We checked out right way. The only good thing was that the reception was nice at all times. Even under so many complaints from so many guests. Almost 3 weeks after that we're still trying to get refund. You should avoid this kind of headache by avoiding this hotel.

This hotel is truly terrible. The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms are dark, dull and shower is full of mould. The air on unit screamed when turned on and hardly slept due to noise. Reception is dreary. The entire hotel is dirty and appears to have not been updated since it was erected. Breakfast was like feeding time at the zoo! Dirty plates and dirty tables. The best thing about this hotel was checking out and leaving!!!

Arrived in Fortaleza super excited and when we open our door to our room the place was dirty, the furniture had its better days, layout very outdated, the smell was unbelievable, the bathroom was filthy, there was no manager, staff was very unmotivated, the door was broken and lock was detaching from the door. The whole place is a joke. Nobody cares at all about your stay. Stay away and go to Holliday Inn next door like we did.

I stayed at the praia suit for a meeting in Fortalez. The hotel has a somewhat rundown feeling, but is is very clean, the matress was new and comfortable, but best is the huge space available, two rooms, both with TV and AC, one bedroom and the other a living room.
AC worked very well, a big plus in hot and humid Fortaleza.
The hotel is located close to the beach and most sights are easy to reach from there.
For a stay in Fortaleza I can defenetly recommend the hotel.

At the arrival we were attended by a rude and not pleasant attendant. The room was ok, but not as we expected. No desk, and not really a suite. However the balcony was nice, with a good view of the beach. Some furniture would be even better to use it. The breakfast was ok, but the service is a bit disorganized. They run out of things and takes a while to refill, or they just don't, as yoghurt that disappeared after our first breakfast. The location was ok, half a block from the beach, and close to the flea market on Beira Mar avenue and Mercado Central. The swimming pool on the 22nd floor is very small and very crowded when we tried to use.

Plaza Praia Suites is an excellently situated hotel which has seen better days - as the fact that the waste basket was labelled Best Western suggests. The daily rate is reasonable However, ours was an unfortunate visit as we were there to work and the internet hardly ever worked - indeed we moved rooms to get a better access but to no avail. On our final night not only was there no internet but also the cable TV was off-line. Although we were.out all day on two occasions our room had not been cleaned by 5.30 and one day we had no hand towels and there were no beach towels available. I could go on, but would advise against staying until better reviews become available..
