We booked through Travelocity for $97 ($84 plus $13 tax). The hotel charged another $11 for state, city and county tax when we checked out. We paid $24 in taxes on an $84 room!!!! We are frequent travelers and usually when you book through a travel site the taxes are included. Very misleading!
We requested a room away from the elevator and pool. We were on the 2nd floor right above the pool. Very loud, could hear the screaming above the TV. There was food on the floor, in our room. Won’t stay there again.
Beautiful Inside. So clean Would absolutely stay here again King bed with bathroom that was handicapped ready Had a room next to bedroom, so when hubby woke up early he didn’t disturb me. With a coffee machine and refrigerator
We've stayed at this particular hotel many times before and always had a great experience. Not this time. It's been a year since we've traveled due to Covid so when we had both shots, we made reservations for an overnight stay at the Appleton Cambria. (1) When we checked in the hand sanitizer was empty at the front desk. (2) The hand sanitizer was empty by the coffee. However, to their credit, they did have a hand sanitizer dispenser not too far away. (3) When we got to our room, there was a terrible noise - very loud air flow noise, inside and outside of our room that didn't stop. We reported it and they moved us down the hall. We could still hear it but it wasn't as bad. Incidentally, while we were moving our things to our new room, we passed the front desk clerk bringing a new air filter to the one in the hallway outside of our initial room. (According to the CDC, air filters, etc., need to be changed frequently.) (4) The sink in our "new" room, did not drain properly and based on the pictures I took, looked like it had leaked at one time or another. Just walking into these rooms gave you a dark and dreary feeling. I contacted the manager of this hotel when we returned and he sent me an apology via email. Sure hope they clean this place up! It's really gone downhill.…
My daughter and I made a quick trip to Appleton, and stayed at the Cambria. We will definitely be staying here each time we're in Appleton. The beds were so comfortable, the room was large, we loved the shower, and the staff was wonderful. Eugene checked us in, and he was professional and friendly. We generally pay more than twice what we paid here for our hotel, but we won't be doing that anymore. The Cambria is soooo affordable for what a lovely hotel it is. Thanks to all the staff from myself and my daughter.
