The inn is charming, with bold architecture, deck on the sea and all suites with sea-view and private balcony. Our view is breathtaking !!! We do not have a pool. We have a bar service, "Laziness Bar", which runs from 2.30pm to 9.30pm with lunch, snacks and romantic candlelit dinner, plus A games room (Bar expenses not included in the rate).

My wife was searching for hotels in Angra dos Reis and she found this one.
We've decided to go directly to Ilha Grande, but that day we lost the ferry boat.
We began ride with our car and by accident we found this hotel.

It was a huge surprise!

The Hotel was amazing with wonderful rooms and many things to do.
We did snorkel in a morning, in the hotel's deck, we saw a lot of fishes and even a turtle!!

Recommended!

A beautiful pousada with many areas to relax and enjoy the setting. Staff is very helpful. Some owner speaks English. Excellent views. Great location- a little tricky to find.

I was in need of a well earned rest and was seeking peace and tranquility above all. I could not have chosen a better pleace! All I could hear from by bedrrom balcony was the sound of water lapping the shore, and the view is sensational. The room was cosy and comfortable and prettily decorated in tones of yellow and white. Whilst the room had an air conditioner there was no celing fan and I missed that. The intense humidity meant that the air conditioner had to be on and this was noisy at night. Breakfast was simply served but good, with a small selection of fruit, ham, cheese, bread rolls and a freshly baked cake. The staff, Elton and Rejeane, were very friendly and attentive. I am very happy to have found this haven so close by and I will most definitely be back.

We booked this place for 4 nights based on the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. The company state they can speak English. Maybe we should have been prepared for the total lack of cooperation we received when before we arrived we sent 2 emails through their website (both in English and translated into Portuguese) that went completely unanswered.

I rate this 2 stars - one because of the wonderful view from our balcony overlooking a shoreline dotted with small islands, and the other for the good communal space on the lower level which included a private dock and plenty of sunbathing space.

Unfortunately the downsides outnumber the good and for that reason we would not recommend, particularly if you do not speak Portuguese. Firstly the heat and noise was ridiculous. On arrival we were given room 1 which seemed spacious enough and had big open shutters onto a private balcony overlooking the sea. Great until we realised there is no actual glass or proper closure to these shutters, so the tiny air con unit permanently stuck on low didn't do too much to cool the room. The shutters also meant that any other noise from the property (including loud drinking guests on the deck late at night) all made it directly into our room. Hot and bothered. There also seemed to be no air downstairs, a few working fans would have gone down nicely.

The worst part of our experience were the staff. Not a single one spoke a word of English, which makes life difficult, but even using Google translate on the wifi (which only worked downstairs) they just couldn't be bothered to even try to communicate with it. It was infuriating. My partner and I have travelled widely and have never come across such lost in translation. We asked if they would book us a taxi at 7:30am in order to make the 8am Ilha Grande boat the night before. We had a written translation, one lady read it and nodded at us, the nexr morning we almost missed the boat because no taxi ha been booked. We have a whole string of other examples, including some pasta I ordered at lunchtime using their Portuguese menu - an hour later I asked where the food was and they hadn't for some reason ordered it. There were no other guest there at the time, just the 4 staff sitting around eating their own lunch. They finally made the simple dish, which was the most expensive meal we ate the whole trip and even charged us a 10% service charge on the final bill, I just couldn't be bothered to argue with them, I was happy to leave.

Also when their website states 5 minutes into town, that means via taxi not walking. I would strongly recommend having a car to stay here.

Angra dos Reis is a unique place. I stayed for a short relax during a travel and prolonged it for 2 days more. Take the kaiak, paddle on the green bay in sunny days and at night enjoy the deck with a freezing beer with prepared shrimps. Caring staff and big rooms with a unique view. Must go place.

This is a place you would like to be your home rather than your hotel! It really is a little piece of paradise.
The view of the sea and islands from the room was fabulous. There is a jetty where you can sunbathe and from which you can dive straight into the warm water. Kayaks are provided, which is a lovely way to discover the bay. Boat trips are also organised; we did not take advantage of this but the other guests were pleased with the service.
I'm afraid I don't know the names of the couple who managed everything, but they were fantastic. The gentleman especially was totally charming: always smiling, coming to help and offer little services that went well beyond the call of duty.
The food we had in the restaurant was vey good - we recommend the Picadinho Carioca! Breakfast was also good, and complimentary coffee and cake are served all day.
We only stayed two nights, which wasn't enough. We'd love to go back!
Bear in mind though that it is quite hard to get to if you are coming by public transport. You need to take the C04 bus (direction Vila Velha) near the port of Angra dos Reis and get off after the Colegio Naval when the bus turns inland and starts to climb. Then you have the hilly (and smelly - dotted with rotting fruit!) 300m-long driveway to negotiate on foot. A taxi is a much better bet!
We stayed during Carnival and found it a bit expensive.
Some furnishings are rather "tired" and could do with a bit of TLC. There is no glass in the windows of the room, just shutters - which we'd never come across before! We thought we'd be eaten alive but escaped fairly lightly. Bring insect repellent though!

We've been to this lovely Pousada a few times over the last years. It's just the perfect place to relax for a (long) weekend. Beautifully decorated rooms, balcony with sea view. Hammock on the balcony. Great breakfast with fresh fruits and cakes as well as fresh orange juice. Staff is friendly and helps where they can. Free stand up paddling and canoeing. Go for a boat trip around the islands of the region, it's not cheap but worth the money!

We have stayed here 5 times. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are nice and the common areas of the Pousada are very pleasant. It has a great view and you can easily access it with a boat. Which is very convenient for going in boat tours, once you are here you don't have to drive anywhere.
