Wonderful little hideout just outside of Angra.
Super place to escape the masses.
Very well care-taken little hotel with only six rooms. Delicious food and drinks and top service.
All very friendly and helpful making sure that any of your wishes are taken care of.
Excellent place for doing boat trips in individual speed boats to the many islands close by.

This is the most amazing guesthouse I've ever been to! Such a beautiful landscape, wonderful architectural taste and friendly atmosphere, you can't escape the feeling of being in paradise. I wish I just had enough vacations to get back there more often (been 3 times already!). If that wasn't enough, you still have the opportunity to reach hundreds of natural islands in an hour short boat trip, making it impossible to fully exploit all the beauty the Angra dos Reis / Ilha Grande region has to offer in only a week vacation time period. Me and my wife have been there first time in our honeymoon and it was just PERFECT. I can only recommend it further (but not to too many people, since their room capacity makes this inside tip necessarily quite exclusive). ;-)
Thank you, Gail & folks! It's always a pleasure being with you!

This is a gem. Attentive staff, good food, plenty of places to relax, nice tours and beautiful sunsets. Wow, this sounds almost to good. Ok, let's find some minor flaws: maybe they could have informed us better about the place and spoken some basic English so that we could have made ourselves understood in an easier way. Maybe they could have arranged some set travel packages so that we could have known more about their products. But in the end, the language barrier didn't bother us much. Rather it added some extra touch to the overall experience.

Very friendly and charming place, very well organized. A familar atmosphere, super service. The breakfast with many options, fresh prepared. variations of fruits, eggs and tapioca. Cheese and ham, fresh squeezed orange juice- everything really delicious.
Nice view of the bay, you can jump directly into the water. Comfortable sun beds, many places to rest

The selling point of this guesthouse is how peaceful it is. The views are stunning and with there only being 6 rooms, it feels like complete tranquillity. The location is also perfect for sunset. All rooms have a sea view. The rooms upstairs offer more privacy and less noise disturbance as they're further away from the kitchen / dining area.

There are ample deck chairs and places to enjoy the sun. Staff are attentive and helpful. Breakfast is included and there is a select menu to choose from for food during the day. There are also board games on offer, kayaks and paddle boards, and a private pier for boats going to and from Ilha Grande.

However, note that no English is spoken by staff, despite this being indicated on other booking sites. We had a few communication issues. Owing to the location, it's likely that guests will be eating all meals at the hotel, and the menu is extremely limited. Uber to and from the town centre is cheap, but might take some time calling a taxi out due to the location.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The setting was very relaxing and we were able to take it easy for a few days.

Mestre Augusto its a very charming and peaceful place. The food is delicious, the view is gorgeous and the vibe is absolutely calm. Its perfect for a relaxing and restoring weekend and also very romantic. The accommodations are very refined and comforting, but my favorite part was the boat trips where we were able to explore the different beaches and the stunning nature. Personally, this INN is my favorite spot in Costa Verde area.

This is one of the most charming and cozy places I’ve ever stayed at! Everything from breakfast to decoration was perfect.
Right by the sea the pousada has a pier that allows the boats to pick you up to explore te majestic beaches of Angra’s islands.
The rooms and common spaces are super comfortable and clean, the staff is lovely (Jorge and Flávia are extremely thoughtful).
The views are also stunning.
Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, will definitely come back!

This is a fantastic place. We loved the atmosphere and the attention to detail. The interior design was beautiful. The garden was beautiful. The view was beautiful. The staff was really kind. Food was good and fairly priced.

No one speaks English at the guesthouse and we do not speak Portuguese but we all managed using our phones and google translate. :)

We had a full day of rain during our stay and thanks to a very good WiFi connection we were able to stream a movie on our phone.

Well, Mestre Augusto pousada is a little jewel guesthouse with only six comfortable rooms. The decor, the deck,,the staff, the view all helping you feel as though you are at a friend's fantastic beach house. The staff is part of the atmosphere, with Jorge, Marcos and the girls, especially Jorge to spoil you on your stay there. The breakfast which is included in the rate is well served. They don't have a restaurant but they are ready to serve you delicious appetizers, drinks. Try the Caipirinha with lemon and passion fruit. For lunch and dinner a meal can be booked, It's just 2 or 3 options but delciously home made. Meals are a problem depending on where you are in Angra. Sometimes there's no restaurant nearby and you have to drive a little. The staff can help you schedule boat tours, because this is like going to Rome and seeing the Pope. A boat tour is a must if it is your first time in Angra. i had been to this hotel before, 21 years ago, so I can say they've been on the business for long, keeping the same quality and concept of intimacy. I'd just have to point out that they could have a menu with the prices of the drinks and food, and the items in the minibar and change the mirrors of the bathroom which are oxidating. But nothing that spoiled my stay., which was terrific
