Detailed Reviews
Really loved this place. The staff were helpful and arranged all our transport to and from without taking any commission. They also had lots of suggestions as to what we could do and recommended a great bit trip. Food was delicious and helpings were generous. The view was sensational; we are now at a 5* hotel in Angra but feel the view and service at Atlantica was better! Room clean and comfortable. Everything was authentic and beautiful.

+1
This was hands down the most enjoyable stay of my lifetime and I’ve been in 5 star resorts all over the world.
The staff is friendly, polite and professional. The food is delicious. The scenery is breathtaking.
The stay could not have been any better. I highly recommend anyone to stay here if they are traveling to Ilha Grande.

We stayed at the Atlantica Jungle Lodge for 4 days in January and had a wonderful time. Everything is perfect, clean and efficient. What makes this place truly special is Rodolfo and all his staff. Without them this place would be beautiful, but it wouldn’t be spectacular. Many thanks to all of you for making our year begin with an amazing start- we will be back.

We stayed in this paradise for 3 nights and had a fantastic time.
The spot here is so beautiful and with the most fantastic views from the rooms and the dining room.
The service here is excellent all the time.
We where met at the beach as we arrived by boat, and our trip back to Rio was arranged from here. The trip from Abraão to here only takes about 20 minutes by speedboat.
We had all our meals here and the food was great and at reasonable prices. Only the very fine breakfast was included.
There is wifi thought it is not always working, but one time it was even possible to FaceTime.
The walk to the 7th most beautiful beach in the world - Lopez Mendes - can be done in only 15 minutes. But the beach right here is very fine too and it is possible to get sunbeds from the lodge.
We had clothes washed here from one day to another.
We stayed in the big room no 5 with beautiful view and laying apart from the others.
I really can recommend this place and would like to be back some day.

Fantastic location walking distance from the stunning Lopes Mendez Beach and away from the backpacker enviroment of Abraao.
We stayed here for three nights on our honeymoon and it was the highlight of our trip. Rodolfo and Claudia are fantastic hosts who will go out of their way to ensure a memorable stay and that their guests leave with a little bit of their passion for Isla Grande installed in them. Th is really is a true gem of a place which is worth every penny.
The food is fantastic - try the garlic and ginger pasta! This place really is a a hidden gem, if there were 6 stars to give we would!
If you are looking for a few days to get away from it all within walking distance of one of the best beaches in Brazil this is the place for you. If you want to hit the town every night then it is not. Thanks for our stay, we will be back one day!

Spent an amazing 6 nights with my Husband and 13 year old Daughter here in Jan 2012, Rodolfo and Claudia were fantastic hosts we felt like family! Accommodation was beautiful so fresh and inviting. Claudia is an excellent chef who prepared wonderful meals. Limited WiFi meant we actually spent time as a family enjoying the beach at the front and use of the kayaks, great spot for snorkeling and a nice walk to Lopez Mendez Beach. Enjoyed the 3 times daily visits by the Capuchin monkeys must cost a fortune in Bananas.
The most relaxing place ever!

We (2 couples) spent five nights at Atlantica Jungle Lodge. Which is not located in the State of Piaui, but only 130 km south of Rio de Janeiro. There are several ways to get there, depending on your budget. Rodolfo, the owner, who is VERY helpful with everything, will give you all the necessary advise and prices. We organized a private car to Conceiçao de Jacarei and from there a speed boat to Abrao and a water taxi to Praia de Pouso. The famous Lopez Mendez beach is only a 20´ walk away. Abrao, main city of the island, is a 2 hour hike thru the jungle, but only 20´ with a water taxi. Atlantica Jungle Lodge is the ideal place for people who are looking for a relaxing vacation. Not advisable for families with small children or elderly couples with walking difficulties. They have only 4 rooms, we stayed at the 2 superior ones which are very comfortable. Breakfast is included in the rate and absolutely delicious. If you do not feel like going someplace for lunch or dinner, Claudia is a terrific cook and will prepare whatever you chose from a varied menu. I thoroughly recommend this place!

It is an absolutely wonderful small hotel. Rooms are simple but perfectly comfortable and nicely decorated. The whole place is very tastefully done. The location is amazing, surrounded by the jungle and few steps from a beautiful beach (and ten minute walk from the most beautiful beach on the island). The atmosphere and the view are just wonderful. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The food is excellent.
The place is a real gem.I will certainly try to go back!
I read the review about the price. It is a little more expensive than some other hotels in that part of Brazil, but one needs to keep in mind that everything needs to be brought there by boat. It is the little extra price that must be paid for being in a totally secluded place.
Only warning: if you want night life that's not the place for you. If you want to relax in a quiet beautiful place, in the nature, with an amzing view and very close to the beach, that's the place. I recommend it 100%.

Dear Frederic,
Thank you very much for you kind message and for considering to commemorate such an important occasion in our hotel.
Lopes Mendes is a very special beach indeed.
Sorry but, as informed in our website, we only accept booking with children from 12 years old. We have no infrastructure to host small children. I really hope you understand.
Greetings from praia do Pouso.
