We stayed 5 nights during carnival week, everything in Paraty was booked up so we were lucky to get a bungalow for four, if you are used to trekking or camping then the accommodation will be ok although a bit tired
everything was clean and comfortable fresh sheets and towels everyday, good breakfast every morning and if you are lucky a visit from the little family of Marmosets that come some mornings and will take fruit from you, it is a bit of a walk to the historic centre 30mins, overall a very relaxing stay the staff were pleasant and helpful especially Ricardo who speaks English, the deluxe rooms are what you see on their site and if you can get them they are worth the extra. All in all a good stay we would stayed here again.

This pousada is very nice in many ways, situated on the river in a quiet spot (there was dredging and trucking next door while we were there so relaxing round the pool, not quite finished with renovations, was not an option during the day) and surrounded by lush gardens.

Our room and bathroom were fine, although when first entering it each time, it had a musty smell. Externally, there was a lot of mould on the roofs and exposed walls, which needed a good clean. Some of the paths to the dining area were a bit rough (maybe that's a Parati thing) so you needed to watch your step.

Breakfast was really good but the dinner menu was small and expensive and there are no restaurants nearby. Pick up something before you get back to the hotel.

The owner is very nice and helpful. He let us borrow his laptop so we could check our email. One of the kitchen staff was loud and even diciplined her young son in front of guests, not good.

We walked into Parati each day, a little over 1.5kms.

After the Big-City Rio de Janeiro we really enjoyed the silence in the small city Paraty. The Pousada Magia Verde has really a very beautiful garden with a little pool to relax. The garden in our room (bungalow) wasn't that nice so we hasn't use it...

We were really disappointed with our experience, unfortunately. Only when we arrived, we were told, they had fully booked and changed our reservation to nearby guesthouse, and not told us before. The next door guesthouse was not good. We would never have booked that place ourselves and thought of going home early. Not a good experience.

This place also has construction going on as they build 8 more rooms for Magia Verde pousada. But we would have wanted to stay at this pousada, not the next one called Villa del Rey.

This "pousada" is a bit far from the center of Paraty. But not that far: forget the laziness, walk 20 minutes breathing this fresh air. Rooms are good, big comfortable bed, wi-fi, clean bathroom. Pool is so small that it seems more like a bathtub (do not be fooled by pro pics they show). But i's OK for relaxing a bit after the breakfast right next to the pool. Food is really good there: excellent breakfast and very good supper. Even pizza is really tasty at the small restaurant next to the pool. Trees everywhere complete this beautiful picture.

The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The electric shower just poured down nice, hot water. The gardens were left natural requiring less maintenance, but were still very nice. The parking on the dirt driveway was fine, but may get a little tight if the place was busy. The pool is on the smaller side (about 25' x 10'), but good for a quick swim. The Pousada is somewhat close to the main road, but far enough away to not bother you. it's so quiet at night and in the morning that it wouldn't matter anyway. The wood trim and cabinets could use some updates, but that's a pretty minor issue. The place is 1 1/2 miles from old town Paraty, so it is best to have a car staying here. Without good directions, it's a little hard to find back in a quiet, residential neighborhood, which, contrary to the previous review, seemed more than safe.

The small boat storage place next door with it's own boat launch may be a problem if there were early morning fisherman launching, but it was real quiet when we were there.

Mosquito's absolutely love me, so even though I didn't see any, I did get 3 bites while wearing shorts, maybe to breakfast. But, my son and wife didn't get bit at all. But, in Paraty, you're likely to get bit anywhere, so don't let that stop you from staying here.

Breakfast was good with plenty to eat. And, it was pleasant eating right by the river. Decaf is not a norm in Brazil, but I had bought my own at the store previously and they were happy to make it for me for breakfast both mornings we stayed.

Bottom line, for the money, this place is great.

We stayed here three nights. We recommend this Pousada for those who look for a quiet place.

On their website it makes the impression that the Pousada is near the center of Paraty - this is not the case. By foot it takes more or less half an hour to get there. Although the Pousada offers bikes for free - you should be aware of that fact. There are no Restaurants nearby.

Breakfast is really outstanding! They have eggs, different breads, cakes, fruits, jams, cheese and cold cuts, fresh juices and more... only on the cereal side they are rathet week - but this is critisism on a very high level ;-)

Sadly only the owner speaks English. So communication is very limited when he is not around.

WiFi works, but nor inside the rooms. Pool is availiable but was sadly under maintanance when we were there. Laudry service is very well priced and fast & nice.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

Very nice staff, great location riverside (Pereque-Açu river), great continental breakfast, the hotel has been able to preserve nature and still provide great accomodations. If you're traveling to Paraty-RJ and you intend to be accompanied by friends or family this would be a perfect place to stay during weekends or hollidays. Great cost/benefit.They let me stay a little bit longer (late checkout) charging no extra fees on last day. But please, keep in mind that hotel is not a luxurious one and if you go there, you'll want to have huge nature (sea and land, wild or not) and gourmet experiences as well as places (sightseeingto) in Paraty, so don't get indoors for Christ's sake! The hotel has some small issues mainly concerning to shower and cable TV but after all, it can provide great moments and confort on low cost.

Great Pousada set in lovely lush garden beside the river. There was misunderstanding with bookings we thought we were getting two bedroom apartment in fact we were offered a one bedroom bungalow with two beds. Not at all suitable for us. Owner was terrific and spoke English, arranged another room immediately . Breakfast great loads to eat . they have a restaurant too and recommendations for tours and places to see. We had to rent bikes -it was too far to walk into town and a taxi each way is the flat price of R15. You'd be better with a car

We were rather excited about this "charming" place by the river, but the excitement ended very quickly. The online photos are misleading and deceptive in every way possible. This pousada is in a bad part of town, far from the city center, in an area that I would not walk in at night. We were told to park outside the pousada walls, on a dirt road, and I was left wondering if our car will still be there in the morning. The place was dirty and run down, with no comfortable common area. The bed wasn't even made when we arrived, so we had a chance to see the stained mattress and tattered pillows. We left, foregoing our non-refundable deposit, to find someplace nicer, much closer to the centro, for about the same cost. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Is the pousada too far from the historic center?? Thanks
Answer from Luís A
S.Paulo
Dear Nicosia Green Magic Inn is on the banks of the Pereque Acu River surrounded by Atlantic rainforest, at about 1.600 meters from historic old town (less than two minutes by car, 5 minutes by bike – available at the inn – and 20 minutes walking). Regards Luís Audrá

"Rooms next to the pool are the best because they're also next to the breakfast/restaurant. You walk thru trees to get there. It's nice and quiet. Try their juices in the breakfast: they're really nice. Also these rooms are the best to be located when you have some ride or sightseeing scheduled early in the morning: even by car or by boat (there's a stream near the pool)."
