The best bit about this hostel truly is the staff. They were absolutely fabulous. Gave all sorts of useful tips about things to do, how to get there and so on, and they were just so friendly it was like you were a part of the Lagoa family. At first I was a little skeptical about the location in terms...

Excellent location close to lots of bars and restaurants and walking distance to Ipanema and Leblon. Rooms are comfortable enough for a hostel. I took advantage of the cheap price to use it as a base for the day before flying out in the evening.

So happy with our stay at Lagoa Guest House! My partner and I stayed during Carnival and booked a mix dorm. Upon arrival we were offered a free upgrade to a private room! The atmosphere here was wonderful. The staff couldn't have made us feel more at home. Paul took a group of us out on our first night and...

What an amazing hostel! The best we've stayed in in our 10 weeks travelling. It has a great feel, very relaxed and Fabio, the owner, and all the staff go out of their way to help you with everything and give great advice. Fabio even made us caprianahas on Friday night! Delicious breakfast too. It is in a great location,...

Great option in Rio. Stayed there two times and the staff was wonderful and professional on both. It's not a "luxury hostel", neither a party one. It's quiet and relaxing and makes you feel at home. The location is good, near Jardim Botânico, Parque Laje and Lagoa. You can rent a bike and get to Ipanema beach in 10 minutes....

Its well located, tons of buses in the area, its clean, good sized rooms with shared bathroom, nice breakfast and nice common areas. But best of all, their staff. Airline lost our luggage for three days and all the staff was so helpful and smiley and willing to help, we felt at home. Thanks

A really enjoyable stay all round, the staff are so friendly and helpful! Nice clean rooms, nice shower and a really nice communal area for everyone. It is a bit far out but it was very easy to get buses from there. There's also a cold tub. Would highly recommend this hostel to anyone. #lifeislife

We stayed here during carnival and ended up extending our stay because we liked it so much. The staff are all lovely and helpful, the rooms are nice and clean, decent breakfast in the mornings. It's not the most Central location but there's lots to do in the area and busses are frequent and easy to use. A super chilled...

We stayed at Lagoa Guest house for two nights. The pickup at the airport worked good! Our room was to the main street and really loud. There is much traffic! The shared bathrooms are ok, but not VERY clean. The breakfast is toast or bread, cheese&ham, some friuts, coffee, milk & juice. For the price of 150Real we expected more.
