Stayed only two nights before we moved to another El Misti. The location is really good, you can reach any place from the hostel, easy to go shopping, to the beach, supermarket and to move around the area. We found Copacabana better than we have expected. Full of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops and more. Staff at el misti were kind,...

I found this to be the only big chain hostel where it worked great to be a solo traveler! I felt welcome and included immediately and met so many cool people. The vibe is so friendly and social and it is clean and the staff is so on top of everything! This was a great hostel all around!!

Fantastic stay here in Octuber. Great, fun place to stay. Lovely, friendly staff! We were there on a night where they had live music, which was great with a good crowd. Rooms were clean & comfy beds. Location is just awesome, you are where you need to be.

I booked the hostel via hostworld.com for 4 nights. On this site the review was 9. But I rate it 5. Two times there was no water. The shower is terribly. Only very hot or very cold water. Airco was broken or off so very hot dorms. Breakfast was crap and the overall atomsphere was average. Location is good.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
