Arrived to this wonderful grand dame of a hotel once again, we were here last year, this time staying for 9 nights. They upgraded us to a lovely room overlooking the beach in the old building. I had a few requests which I had emailed the hotel prior to our arrival (emptying the mini bar and extra hangers) - and...

This iconic hotel is worth the high price, if you choose the right room - we didn't try every single one, but you get a pretty good idea on site. Service is good, although plagued by the South American Speedy Gonzales restaurant style, you've got to hold on to your plate - at first it makes you laugh, but it...

Takes you back to colonial times! Luxury, tastefully decorated, delicate features, great food. A place to indulge and spoil yourself. Great location at Copacabana beach ( nice beach bar across the road as well) Nit the best part of town for shopping but the views on the front bedrooms are to die for

We stayed for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. All the usual compliments due to a 5 star hotel are deserved. Superb staff especially, from the door team to the waiting team, concierge.... Perfect level of service. On hand instaneously but no over bearing obsequiousness. Top marks. Only quibble is having to pay for coffee making in the room....

Pros: Right across from the beach. Huge pool with lots of seating in and out of the sun. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are very clean. Turn down service at night. Good business center. You can't go up in the elevator without a room key. A few cafes within walking distance. Comfortable beds. Someone walks you to your room and...

Dear Madam, First of all, I must reaffirm our sincere apologies for this lamentable episode. Although we have taken all necessary measures to prevent accidents inside our building, unfortunately, in an unusual situation, your fall took place. I also add that through our hospitality Manager, I have become aware of the details and the assistance provided and offered at that...

We dreamed of staying in a suite with a balcony overlooking Copacabana Beach. We found it at the Palace. Belmont understands understatement in luxury and service. The suites are elegant, quiet and simply beautiful. The giant pool is protected from the wind with pool service second to none. Choice if dining, formal or relaxed and everything is a few steps...

The only word to describe this hotel is Perfection! Stayed here for a couple of days at the end of our 3-week South American holiday before our flight back to London. Been to Rio once before and done all the touristy stuff so this time we didn't leave the hotel except to go to the beach a couple of times....

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
