We just departed from room 704--a great, front and center, Copacabana Beach location with the added bonus when the curtains open, of having a lively and full view of the beachfront. The breakfast was very good. Better than normal hotel type breakfast. Fresh fruit abounded as well as scrambled eggs that tasted like scrambled eggs, various pastries, etc. We would...

We stayed in the Olinda Rio between tours to Brazil and Peru. A great location right on Copacabana Beach. Hotel is comfortable and many of the staff speak English. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection. The room was spacious and clean. Would recommend.

As this was going to be our one and only trip to Rio it was important for us to get a room with a sea view over Copacabana beach but one that didn’t cost the earth. Impossible right? Fortunately for us it was possible in this Hotel. The hotel is not flash but neither is it horrible. There is refurbishment...

Very convenient to the beach mid Copacabana. I had a suite near the top floor with a balcony, rather simple. Airconditioning was just ok. No english channels, wifi was just ok, breakfast was very good.

My husband and I recently stayed here as part of our honeymoon. We arrived very late at night and unfortunately had some issues with our room, but were thankfully upgraded to a beach front room, which had amazing views. The front of house were extremely helpful and helped us book our tours. They provide fresh beach towels at the reception...

Friendly personel, comfortable rooms, great location. My only critic is that some of personel don't speak any english. But the ones who speak english are really helpful. The boat tour they recommanded was really cool.

I really wanted to like this hotel but I would recommend looking elsewhere. I understand that Brazil has not got the same standards as Australia or America but when you are paying the same rate as you would pay at home you expect a certain level of standard. The location and views are great - but you can get that...

I recently stayed in this hotel for 8 nights as a group of 3 friends. I was very impressed with the hotel. Breakfast was good. A good range and quality of continental breakfast options - cereals, breads, fruits, cakes. The bedroom was an adequate size and quite basic. We had paid extra to secure a 'luxury' room with sea views....

Stayed here for two nights - breakfast was great with a selection of fruits, cold meats, eggs and cereal + juice, tea and coffee. Awesome beachfront views over Copacabana. Very helpful staff, most of whom can speak English. Hotel was noisy as construction going on next door (presumably in anticipation of the olympics later this year)! Overall, a good place...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
