Stayed from 25 - 27 June for a short visit and was immediately not impressed by the outlook of the hotel. Check in was some what smooth however, the room I got had a bad/foul smell of smoke and I was on a non-smoking floor!...More
Overnight stay, before joining the Carnaval Package. Located 1 block from the beach, unfortunately not much of a view. A bit noise with the buses coming around the corner, however it was great to walk to the beach early in the morning.

This hotel was recommended to us by our travel agent, she also said she has stayed there and said it was a good choice. I was expecting more, since the price is still higher than what we would pay for a nicer hotel here in...More
Stayed here for 5 nights on a business trip and found it much better than some reviewers. You're not in Manhattan or Mayfair, so it is different. All the services worked as expected, and the staff were all very helpful. It doesn't belong to a...More
As seems to be the standard in Brazil, the rooms are Spartan and need a thorough upkeep. Noisy airco, flimsy sheeting and oldfashioned bathroom with the typical 'pluffy' Brazilian toiletseats. The swimmingpool is more kids size, so don't count on it. Breakfast at the tiny...More
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful
draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

As a Brazilian and a former inhabitant of RJ I may say that Copacabana and Ipanema sorroundings from Posto 5 to Posto 9 (Posto are the lifeguard spots alongside of Beach) are quite safe if you take a good care of your belongings. Do not carry much money, do not show off expensive phones, Jewlery or electronic gadgets, do not take cab on streets (ask your concierge or use a cab app, like Easy Táxi, 99 Taxi, Uber, etc). During the day and early night you may walk mostly eberywhere at Beach áreas because is always full of people, tourists and natives. Avoid walking alone after 9pm when streets become more empty. Enjoy the city! RJ is beautiful and the área where this hotel is located is one of my favs. Centrally located between Copacabana Beach to the left and Ipanema to the right.
