My girlfriend and I visited The Windsor Copacabana in August 2008 and have nothing but praise for this hotel. We were a bit worried about security before visiting Rio, however our fears were completely unfounded. The hotel is located in, what seemed, a safe area with security outside the hotel at all times. Staff were very pleasant, breakfast was excellent,...

A nice hotel in a good location. Receptionists very friendly and helpful and only minutes away from the famous beach( overated) Rooms were a little dark as they backed onto the centre of hotel but it was very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts were plentiful and there is a lovely rooftop bar and pool. In a very safe area with lots...

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in July. The hotel is in a relatively good area, a few minute walk from anything. However, don't think you'll have a nice view or anything like that. The only fairly good view is from the terrace on top of the building. Speaking of the terrace, the pool is a joke. Don't know...

Me and my friends stayed at this hotel for 5 days at the beginning of april this year. I have to say that it was overall a nice stay. The hotel is clean, the toilets is sparkling, you have a security box in your room and you can use it for free. The dimension of the room was good enough...

I would agree with some comments from another business traveller below. I was a bit disapointed by the quality of the hotel compared to others I have been at in Ipanema. Pros: Fair budget price, convenient location close to my company's office. Clean rooms and fair breakfast buffet. Con's Looked like a 3* hotel-room style that does not match some...

This is a very good hotel. However try and get a superior room. Its worth it. Its a very clean, modern hotel. The staff are friendly and the buffet at breakfast is immense. There is a buffet for lunch which is a bit pricey but the quality of food is again excellent. Check out the bar and pool on the...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
