Stayed here for 3 nights. Very good hotel for this price. Rather big rooms, friendly staff, close to the beach. Monotonous but nice breakfast. So we've got only positive emotions if not only overpriced laundry.

The room was very small, not much space to move and just about adequate. Thank goodness air conditioning was reasonable given it was very hot and sticky. The sensor lights delay for about a second so when you're in the complete dark, as you are on the landings, you can have a bad accident if you're not careful. Service OK...

My single bed room is very small, dirty, noisy due to road traffic. Furniture is prehistorical, toilet with shower functional. Air condition is full manualy. It smelts bad. I only have a luck to stay here only for two nights, because atmosphere in this hotel is like nightmare. Definitely NOT RECOMENDED !!!

The best about this 3*** hotel is how close it is to Copacabana beach. Like very, very close. It is not very expensive for what it has to offer, a nice and clean room with shower and breakfast included (although it will not be a very rich one). I went to Rio 3 years ago, in October but this websit...

I stayed at the APA Hotel December 2015 and really enjoyed my stay. The reception staff and the porters were really pleasant and always helpful. It's pretty close to Copacabana beach and a clean well kept hotel. Breakfast area is small but clean and the coffee was the best I tasted anywhere in Brazil. If you want a nice hotel...

This hotel was perfect for us, we have been travelling for four months and wanted somewhere a bit nicer to stay for our last destination without breaking the bank and this place was perfect, our room was clean, big and comfortable with a good AC unit and lovely powerful and hot shower! The hotel let us bring our own food...

Simple ans small hotel with really good rooms. All with balcony. The breakfast is ok and complete. The positive: The attention from the staff. They are always (always!!!) smiling and prompt to help. The location could not be better.... Also the prices are really ok for copacapana. It is my choice here!

I stayed at Apa Hotel during my 3 cities Brazil tour. They have great customer service. The hotel is close to Copacabana Beach and it is really accessible to buses and train. However, the elevator was tiny, the room had a smell and water not working for over half an hour after my arrival. They purposely make sure that only...

My friend and I found Apa after booking budget accommodations at a hostel called Copinha, which was so awful (and i've stayed in some bad places) that we had to leave. Apa was such a nice change. Clean, big rooms with balconies. Very helpful staff, especially Joaquim (spelling? sorry!) who was just as nice and helpful and accommodating as you...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

“Try to choose higher floor and northern rooms. Southern side is at rushy road. Don't forget N type outlet adapter (new Brazil standard, grounded hexagonal).”

“My room, 526 was a triple that faced Rua Republica Do Peru street (the one the hotel is listed on). The higher you are the less noise closer to the street; your view won't be any different with a higher elevation floor and you might need to wait for the elevator longer but the latter was never a problem. If your room faced the complete opposite side of the hotel, I think it would be quieter but the view of the street action would be less and not as pretty. The 'end caps' of this rectangular building would have the loudest side facing towards the beach on Rua Barata Ribeiro and the quieter side facing the mountains.”
