PROS. Location is ideal,  2 blocks from  Ipanema beach, and on a very busy street with a lot of restaurants and shops. There is a department store and supermarket right beside it. The front desk are helpful and speak english. Breakfast is filling, with assorted bread, scrambled egg, hotdog, ham and cheese CON: The room is small and a bit... More

This hotel is close to everything - the beach, shopping, restaurants, subway. Farmers market just down the street on Fridays, other fun outdoor markets are not far. The hotel room for my sister & I had 3 single beds, TV, wifi and window a/c. The bathroom had THE GREATEST SHOWER EVER! Lots of water pressure! Staff was wonderful, breakfast was... More

A budget hotel in a great location. Basic but all you need rooms including a safe and great friendly and helpful staff whho speak excellent English. Fantastic value. Basic but adequate breakfast that is typical of all Brazilian hotels. Steve C. Brighton

Location, location, location - this is the reason i stayed there and it could not be beaten. Only a few blocks away from the Ipanema beach and upscale Leblon. Staff really wonderful - always smiley, always friendly, always helpful. Now it goes downhill a bit... Breakfast mediocre - not much choice, quality unimpressive Rooms - very small, student-like - definitely... More

The hotel is small, but the room was very clean and not noisy at all. Friendly employees. Free breakfast was good enough with fruits, juices, coffee, pastries, bread, cheese, a good variety and a nice breakfast area. The location of the hotel is the best you could ask for in the upscale Ipanema neighborhood, 2 blocks from the beach and... More

Literally the toilet is beneath the shower, you can actually shower and *** at the same time. Air conditioning was not strong enough, it was clean enough, but in general, was not a very pleasant experience. The bed fits the whole room area, there is no room for anything else.

Like most of Rio, the San Marco was overpriced during Carnaval, but it was much nicer than we expected based on the reviews here. The rooms were very clean and well laid out (lots of shelf space). The standard room had a large, glass-doored shower (not the simple drain on the floor I had feared). The staff was very helpful,... More

We stayed here for six nights over Carnaval. They upgraded us as soon as we arrived. The room we got was large with a really nice bathroom and the main window overlooked the Main Street but it was still quiet despite being on the second floor. The room was cleaned immaculately every single day, probably the best cleaning service I've... More

It is a good hotel, the staff is fantastic, very helpful. It's in the heart of Ipanema, a traditional and considered "chic point". It's near the beach and there are lovely places to go drinking and eating. It's not an expensive hotel. It's worth it.

This is one of the more affordable hotels near the beach in Ipanema. It's a proper hotel and has a nice enough breakfast. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Still, it was quite overpriced for what we got. I suppose that's because it's only one block from the beach. The room was OK, but it was small (even though superior),... More
