The hostel is well organized and the location (garten and building) is wonderful. The blanket wasn't that proper, but as you receive proper bed sheet, than it's not a big problem. The personal was a bit too professional, which brings to a certain distance (unusual for a hostel), anyway competent and always ready to help!

Really enjoyed staying at Rio Forest. The pool area was nice to relax and have a beer on the hot summer days. Located very close to Lapa, one of my favorite neighbourhoods. Only problem is its high up on the hill so be fit or prepared to do a 10 min walk up. The views once you are there are...

During our 3-week trip in Brazil we chose this hostel twice for 4 nights in total. We were welcomed very warmly and were immediately impressed by the view from the top overviewing St. Teresa and Lapa. The rooms were simple but nice and clean. The breakfast area with a pool and rooftop bar was great. The hostel is on top...

Had a great time here, staff are always helpful and friendly. The pool area and bar are a great place to hang around and the view of RIO is amazing. The kitchen is tiny and only had two hobs and a microwave and there is a lot of stairs to this place (104). I'd definitely stay here again as it's...

I fell in love with this place. I did not want to leave. The view from the balcony, priceless, the staff, amazing, location, perfect. The street car ran directly in front of the hostel door. It was the most romantic place. Filled with Brazilian culture, food, and laughter. I was smitten and will return again one day.,,,

Stayed during olympics, was a very nice time. The hostel is clean plus a good service. If you want something close to nightlife, this is the place. If you want beach and VIP nightlife, it's far but you can solve using taxi or uber.

Best hostel I've stayed in during my 6 months travelling! The hostel is clean and makes you feel at home. The staff are just as amazing, so friendly and accomodating! Every morning with breakfast we got to feed the family of wild marmosets which was another added bonus. Rooms have an amazing view overlooking Rio!

I moved to Rio Forest from an other hostel just down the street. This other hostel had a 9.3 rating on hostel world. But was not even worth a 5. I am glad I moved to Rio Forest. I loved my stay. Rooms were clean and tidy. My room was ensuite. But you have also other rooms. Staff was friendly....

I stayed here two nights in May 2016. I really enjoyed my time here. The views of the city are spectacular. I liked how green the landscape was. There were many lush green trees and even a family of monkeys!! There were a lot of stairs, but I really didn't mind because it's good exercise! It is a bit inconveniently...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
