The BananaZ Hostel is nicely located in Lappa, nice bars are around. We booked a private room in the hostel. The room is small and dark. The bed squeezes with every movement and the mattress was so dirty! I never saw a dirty mattress like...More

The hostel brags about their free shared dinners and cozy atmosphere. I agree, the atmosphere is VERY laid back, the staff is SUPER friendly and the meal is included. However, the dorms are filthy, there’s no space for your luggage nor a safe for your...More

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.
