Stayed at Acapulco Copacabana for 1 night, position is just great, 1 block away from the beach and 3 mins driving from the SugarLoaf cablecar. Staff was friendly and polite, wifi fast and free and breakfast was acceptable. My room and bathroom were big, not new but well manteined. Copacabana area hotels are expensive and this hotel is reasonably priced and only one block off Avenida Atlantica in the Leme area. It is close to many nearby restaurants and shopping. We stayed there three nights and, while the room was basic, it was clean and the bathroom had been updated as well as having plenty of hot water. The... More

It’s located about 150 meters from Copacabana Beach. This is not a luxury hotel, but not a budget hotel. This is a normal hotel with optimal for Rio quality/price ratio. Friendly and courteous staff. Rooms are not large. Delicious and varied breakfasts. Near the hotel there are many cafes and restaurants where you can dine. There are, for example, quite... More

The hotel is very basic, clean room, helpful staff, good location - just a short walk to the Copacabana beach and parallel to the main Avenida Atlantica. The breakfast has an excellent selection of fresh fruits, juices, different types of bread, cooked items of scrambled egg, sausages, ham, bacon and cold cut of meats. The complimentary wifi connection is stable... More

I wasn’t looking for much, just wanted to spend the short time in Rio near Copacabana beach before leaving the next day to Iguacu. Hotel is actually on the Leme end of Copacabana, just a side street (Rua Gustavo Sampaio) away from the beach and parallel to the main Avenida Atlantica that runs along the beach walk. The street for... More

The hotel is old and slightly run down but it is very clean and the staff go out of their way to be helpful, particularly the front of house staff. The cleaning staff work very hard to ensure the rooms are kept to a high standard each day. The breakfast is excellent: plenty of bread, fruit, cereal and cooked items.... More

The no's: the elevators slow, furniture around the 60's. Extremely well located. Its OK for the price. Great breakfast. Friendly people from top to bottom. Clean. Good bathrooms, good TV set, phone, free very fast internet. Close to the beach, good area if you're going to more expensive Windsor Atlantica, 70 feet away.

WE stayed here in April 2013 during our 7 days trip to rio. Very good location near the bus stops and the beach. It has a second row location just behind the Windsor. They classify their rooms in three categories standard, superior and luxury. If you have not been to the hotel before it can be tricky and confusing: you could be paying for a luxury one but in fact getting a standard... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
