I looked at all the reviews for this one and was a little skeptical, but I found this hotel to get a decent place to stay. I would have given it more than an average if the room was just a little bit bigger. The...More
We were there for 6 nights, at beginning of january 09 . The hotel is very good situated (2 min walk from copacabana and 10 min from Ipanema) Perfect located for sightseeing, as very close to the public transportation; (the bus stop, for all destinations...More
One block from Copacabana beach. Excellent breakfast buffet to get you going in the morning. Helpful staff. If you would rather be walking down the beach instead of looking at it from your window..this is the hotel for you. Great value for the money. If...More
After reading such good reviews here on Trip Advisor, we decided to stay at the Windsor Martinique Copa. Overall, I'd say the reviews were largely accurate...but maybe slightly over-rated. The rooms are small, yet clean and comfortable. There is a free ethernet connection in the...More
I read the reviews on TripAdvisor before choosing this hotel, and I was very pleased. The hotel was clean, the service was excellent, breakfast was free and delicious (less common than on past trips to Brazil), and the hotel was very close to the beach....More
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful
draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

We spent 4 days at the hotel, travelled on the metro into the city, hired bicycles and visited Copacobana,Ipanema and the botanical gardens on these, walked Copacabana front in the evening and eat at a restaurant opposite the beach. In all this time we didn't feel threatened or see anything worrying. This hotel location is fine. You can see a favela up on the hill but it is some wAy off and wasn't relevant to us. If you are sensible and don't wander off alone you won't have any problems.
