I was staying in Rio and looking for a spot to learn how to surf, luckily I came across Rio Surf n Stay and made the great choice of booking lessons there. My instructor, Vitor, was a great dude who got me riding waves on my first day! Betania was a dope yoga instructor that'll have you feeling right after...

All staff treated us like family from the very first moment with a free bbq. surf lessions were cool, instructors are very good and knowledgeable. The owner and management were always around to help. I arrived on April because I wanted to surf and living in Rio city, you don´t have waves everyday. So I decide it to come to Recreio and discovered this amazing place: a professional surf school, people from all over the world totally crazy about surfing, all the confort and feeling of a house (a brazilian-kiwi surfer couple created the...

I spent almost 2 weeks on Rio Surf n Stay and when I left, my heart was broken! I was feeling like home! The hostel is located in a very peaceful place, close to a beautiful beach, the rooms are good, always clean and the same for the living room, kitchen, etc. The best in that hostel is the staff!...

I worked and now I'm a custumer, 'cause I love this place and the vibe as well. Everything is about surfing, we can chill, have nice barbecues and meet nice people. Fun dayz. The west side from Rio is about nature and beautiful beaches, with lot of kind waves, from begginer to expert level of surfers.

Except for the terrible, terrible sound isolation in my room, accommodation and facilities are ok, though I've stayed in nicer hostels right in Ipanema and Copacabana for literally half the price. Although I clearly mentioned at check in my uncertain check out date, they still charged me for longer than what I actually stayed and refused to give me a...

I've stayed at Rio Surf n Stay for two weeks and I had amazing time there! Staff is very friendly as well as the owner! It's very close to the beach as well as to the restaurants and bars. There is a shopping centre only 10 minutes walk from the backpacker.

You can't pick a better place to learn to surf. Vitor and Andre are super patient and helpful out on the waves, and everyone at the hostel is super nice. Staying at this place will lower your blood pressure significantly.

If you're in Rio, you have to stop by Surf n Stay and book a trip with Vitor. He gave us such a great lesson, we decided to booked him again for additional lessons and paddle boarding sessions. He spent all day showing us around and taking us to the coolest spots in town - definitely going above and beyond...
