Good located in heart of city. Close to shopping areas, a nice park and many kind of restaurants. In the night very close the street life changes quick with many night entertainment facilities not so far. Sitting in a restaurant and let the crazy mixed street life passing by is a excellent experience. The hotel itself gives a nice feeling to stay, good design to feel well. I enjoyed very much my stay over there.

things have improved since many of the 2016 reviews - the hotel is still an older one showing it's age in places with slow lifts and slightly dated decor but look past that the staff are helpful and friendly and multi lingual. there is now wifi throughout the hotel for guests as basic 4M speeds included in room rate

the breakfast is simple but good and consistent, if you want to eat in the restaurant remember Brazilians eat early at 8pm it's reverting to room service menu (but you can still eat in the restaurant)

the location is central near república and the metro system and is typically são paulo with mixture of night life, parks and poverty rubbing side by side with wealth

i stayed for a week with my partner and they were most helpful and accepting of us (we are an Anglo- Brazilian gay couple)

yes it's old an may need repainting in places but it still has a faded style about it and a helpful and friendly service. the only thing i could find wrong is contrary to some listings there is no pool here just a small gym on the 19th floor.

I stayed in the hotel last year and it was very nice. The hotel is in the center of Sao Paulo city. It's a simple hotel, however very clean. The staff are helpful and very friendly. The breakfast is great - I have nothing to complain about it. Fresh juices, fruits and pastries. For sure will be staying there again on my next visit to Sao Paulo.

Stayed here for 3 days with a friend. The hotel it self was just fine. Breakfast was the standard fruit, mixed fruit, lots of bread options and cakes. Staff very little English but can't complain about that but helpful and friendly. I would say the area there is some restaurants near by we ate in an itialian close by which was good. There are some bars also but did not use them. The area we felt not great at all did not go out late as allot of homeless people with allot of police as one day would see the police stop people with knives. So I think people should know the area it is in. This is not a fault on the hotel but people do need to know the area. Close by tube station also.

San Raphael was one of Sao Paulo's best hotels in the 50's and 60's, but those days are long gone. The rooms are spacious, but that's about it. The air conditioning was broken, there was a leak in the shower, elevators take forever and everything else looks tired. Desperately need a renovation (or a serious price reduction)

We had a great sized suite at this hotel which was tidy, freshly decorated and very comfortable. I was really surprised by this property and would recommend it to anyone.

The bar/restaurant on the ground floor was great, with live music and although we never made it to the complimentary breakfast (too early!!), I heard another guest talking about how nice it was.

Jump in a taxi and head for Vila Madelina - the best area for bars and drinks in SP.

The area the hotel is located in is OK, but there seemed to be lots of 'night ladies' in the area at night, so be wary.

This hotel is pretty much in the heart of SaoPaulo. Metro and the airport bus stop are in walking distance. Breakfast is OK but nothing exceptional. Front desk speaks very poor english. Internet is a nightmare, they charge 10 US a day and its slow in the rooms (or does not work).
Neighbourhood is not the greatest but save for experienced latin america travelers.

Overall it is a good value.

I always travel in latin american countries. Its the first time staying in Sao Paulo.
I stayed by coincedence in San Raphael hotel

Its very good located...good attencion ..clean ...organized...but always there is a but...jaja..if you want to enter in the Wifi ..at least you have to be a hacker.!!!
They ask you to make a phone call to the company that operates the system ..then you have to register your name ..then your room number and then you have to enter the browser .....and then i hung up and dont use their wifi..and spend my data of the red VIVO...
Well i dont understand ..why such a basic but simple nesecity of a guest of this hotel ..should be so complicate and finally not accesible...probably you must be a friend with San Raphael...haha!
Thats the only dark spot of my staying in this hotel...i hope they will fix it ...
