This hostel is a lovely place to stay. The setting is nice and while the bathrooms could do with some work they are functional and clean. The breakfast is a little basic but the staff more than make up for the couple of short-comings in this lovely hostel. They are very friendly, helpful and flexible. Comfortable beds, good access to...

Me and my girlfriend stayed three nights in one of their private 2-person rooms. The room had a balcony area outside which was very nice (although I believe no other rooms do) and it was clean. The hostel in general is small (it is a long-thin terraced house) but cosy, with a alright kitchen and a shaded seating area. The...

My boyfriend and I spent two nights in a private room at Giramondo. Our room very cute, separate from all the dorms and other rooms as it was only accessible by its own set of stairs from the courtyard, and although the balcony in front of the room was "public space" it kind of felt like our own private courtyard...

It is a nice house, in a good location. The 8 bed dorm we stayed in was on par with most hostels. The pillows were filthy, around a quarter of the hooks on the lockers were broken but the beds were comfortable and the room clean. I'd say it's a safe place. It seemed to be mostly used by locals...

The hostel is located in a nice house in Vila Madalena, a beautiful area in Sao Paulo. I stayed there only one night, and it was ok, but honestly it was not nothing special. I think that the main reason for my very "cold" opinion it that the hostel was packed, because a big rock festival was ongoing in Sao...

Nice hostel in Vila Madalena with lovely host who was always checking to see if he can make our stay better. They had a great jazz party on Sunday, and otherwise a very relaxed vibe (might be different if the hostel were full). Good WiFi. Great value for money.

Simplicity, security and tranquility. Is an excellent place to stay with friends, close to many parties. Beer without leaving home , great breakfast and many places for lunch and cheap snacks nearby..

Had a very nice stay at giramondo hostel. The owner gave very good advice about good restaurants and places in São Paulo. Located in the safe but at the same time interesting area of Vila Madelena, and is situation close to the metro. Nice and clean rooms.

Was here for the start of the World Cup, & can't say anything bad about my stay here. The owner/staff are very nice & helpful especially with the craziness of the activities of the city during WC. We even received special passes to go to a local place to watch the opening match since we didn't know we needed to...

Staying in Pinheiros

Neighbourhood Profile
Exploring Pinheiros, a neighbourhood known for cozy restaurants and cafes, you will notice a youthful energy. Several cultural centres and institutes surround the area and even its main church, Calvário, hosts a traditional Brazilian “Festa Junina” - a celebration with traditional music, dance, and food during the months of June and July. On the weekends, residents gather at Benedito Calixto Square, a loud and crowded area where people enjoy live music drinks alongside the antiquities fair.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A quiet place within a cheerful neighboorhood, the Giramondo Hostel is located in the most lively places in Sao Paulo. A charming 2-floor house with 6 shared rooms, 4 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, garden and solarium. Our location is a central point in the city, where you can easily reach work, fun, culture or tranquility. Here you will be able to find bars, restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries and other tons of interesting places, no matter how old you are or where you come from. But inside Giramondo you will find a completely different atmosphere. Despite the friendly and lively behavior of our staff, the place inspires quietness and comfort. A two-floor house, with 6 rooms - very close to each other- connected by the outside garden and the upper terrace. The house is a proper place to host a large group of friends or to make new ones. From Giramondo is not hard to get to financial centers of SP, such as Berrini or Avenida Paulista. Brazil's largest city and main financial center of Latin America, Sao Paulo is able to cause hate and love (not necessarily in that order) to visiting this metropolis with over 11 million inhabitants. In the area of culture and leisure, Sao Paulo seems to have no competitors in other South American destination. The city is home to 160 theaters, more than a hundred museums, where you can lose yourself for hours in interactive exhibition centers such as the fascinating Portuguese Language Museum and Football Museum, 55 cinemas including digital screens and 3D projections, and more 60 green areas. ... more   less
