I was the only guest for a couple of days over Christmas and I was looked after perfectly by chef Claudio who went out is his way to make me feel comfortable. He is a great chef and gave me a great Christmas dinner at night. He also helped me with the buses to the Park and answered any questions I had. Thank you so much Claudio for putting yourself out over the. Heist as period Penelope
Managed by their owners, with nice facilities and all ammenities. nice rooms and swiming pools. strongly recomended if you want to disconnect with the world. There are lots of birds, as its embedded in a natural forest, with a lot of birds, specila mention are the humming birds.
Great place to stay out in the countryside in log cabins or adjoining rooms. Hummingbird feeders and loads of birds in the garden. Good food.English ( well American) spoken and very friendly welcome. A comfortable stay in peace and quiet.
We had a very nice stay at Hosteria de Vilches. Friendly welcome, beautiful location and swimming pools, lovely communal area with pool tables and TVs, and 5 affectionate dogs roaming free and always keen for attention. We were also very spoilt by chef Claudio’s delicious hearty food! The cabins are basic but perfectly functional and a good size. It offers a very relaxed service which is helpful when you want to be left to your own devices, but requires a little proactivity if you are keen to organise anything in-house. We recommend staying, but would advise speaking to the hosts as early as possible to arrange firm details for things like transfers to the park, meal times, booking any additional services e.g. the spa.
Lodge is situated near the regional park. It was EXTREMELY quiet and the bird watching is great. Food and service was fantastic. There are hummingbird feeders all over the property and the ancient trees provide excellent habitat. The only negative was that the water when showering was a bit flaky (hot for a few minutes then very cold) and that the heaters in some of the room did not really offer much heat (they were portable heaters that looked like fireplaces). Also the wi-fi is in the main lodge room only. I REALLY enjoyed my stay here and would love to go back.
Upon arrival, three extremely happy and sweet dogs welcome you. We were spoiled by the owner: hot tub under the stars, with Pisco Sour! Welcome in Chile, he said. Great! The hostaria was unfortunately close during our stay. The owner arranged for us a dinner in the woods in a "secret" little restaurant. 3 guests and a cook. Best dinner in Chile. Our cabaña were a little dark, but finding the fireplice lit after dinner surely made up for that!
My family and I stayed in two rooms in the newly-constructed hotel at the Hosteria (they have fully-equipped cabins, but we chose not to cook). From start to finish our stay was incredible. The rooms were immaculate and so were the three pools and the common areas. We ate a copious amount at the restaurant each morning as breakfast was included in our stay. If you are looking for super helpful staff, thoughtful construction, and peaceful surroundings close to the National Park, THIS is your place.
We stayed here for one night, part of a two week birdwatching tour where the organizer arranged all accommodation, so every check-in was a surprise. This place, the second night of our tour, certainly set the bar very high! Very friendly staff, lovely clean, well-appointed rooms, great food and beautiful surroundings. And it's very close to Altos de Lircay National Reserve, which is a gorgeous park. My wife wasn't feeling well when we arrived, but staff took great care of her, bringing dinner and tea to our room. We would love to come back and spend more time here. Next trip to Chile!
Together with two other like-minded Natural Historians I spent the best part of two weeks based at this wonderful Hosteria. The owner Pedro and his delightful family welcomed us with warmth and inclusiveness. Nothing was too much trouble and it would be more than accurate to say the food and lodging was exceptional. I would unreservedly recommend the Hosteria to any one for both a short or in our case a longer visit. The immediate area is an ideal location to experience some of the wildlife of Central Chile. Indeed many birds can be observed in the attractive grounds of the Hosteria. Both the Cabins and Hotel rooms are modern and highly specified. It was a fabulous choice - read the reviews they are very true.
We spent three nights here in early April 2016. We had a lovely cabin. Pedro was a fantastic host and prepared amazing meals. We were the only guests two of three nights so this was pretty wonderful to have meals prepared just for us. Good wine too.
