After looking for several options, we finally decided to book a room at Hostal Solor. We first called to Silvia on Feb. 16 (2014) to book a room for 2 people from Feb. 27 to March 3 and she answered there were rooms available and requested us to send her an email with the exact dates of the booking and...

Pros: Caring owner Nice and Quiet Clean Good breakast - nothing fancy, but bread, jam, butter, juice, coffee/tea, warm milk, and scrambled eggs Cons: Short walk to town (10-15min) - Pro/con as it's quieter Small basic rooms - but they worked fine for us While the area around the hotel is quieter, we often sleep with the window open in...

We stayed at hostal solor for 5 nights and overall our experience was excellent! We never stayed in a hostal before so wasn't sure what to expect but the host was very warm and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, cleaned every day, hot showers, wifi friendly and breakfast is continental. Car parking is on the road outside although the host...

Overall this was a great place to stay in San Pedro. It wasn't cheap, but then, as many others have said, San Pedro is not cheap! Sylvia, who runs the hostal, is a lovely host. She doesn't speak much English but her son speaks it very well and when he was around he was very helpful. We thought the location...

I had a good staying at the hostal, the service was good, however the hostal staff keep saying to save water (little annoying) but necessary once you are in the desert - the shower takes a little long to get hot. The breakfast is great, location is ok, for those who dont mind going for a walk is close to...

We have stayed in Hostal Solor for 5 nights. We even extended our stay there. +perfectly clean +the location is good. It's 10 minutes walk from San Pedro Center. The advantage is that it's really silent here (opposite to San Pedro's Center). +silence !!! This means a good sleep in comfortable bed. You need it in this climate. Mind that...

As other reviewers have stated, this hostal is quite a long walk into town and you really have to plan your day to avoid unnecessary returns in the blistering sun. It is a long, dusty walk, but the whole town is dusty and I think there are only two taxis, so don't count on using them. Most tour operators pick...

The hostal frequently hasn't someone in the desk. I wait at the closed door for 40 min until be able to do my check-in. The distance to Caracoles is 13 min walking (1100m), i don't mind to walk, but in the way have a lot of sand. Good Breakfast, no noise, clean bed.

This is a very simple hostal, located a good 15-minute walk from the plaza in San Pedro. The rooms are small but comfortable, with great complimentary wifi. Breakfast is basic, but very good. What really makes this place is Silvia, the owner. She is about as 'hands-on' as you could ever wish an owner to be; friendly, helpful, and being...

Silvia waited up until we arrived at midnight. She does not speak English, but we had a Spanish speaking friend call ahead and make sure Silvia knew when we were arriving. The accommodations are simple but scrupulously clean. The hostal is on the far edge of town. We walked home from the center of town twice around midnight. We weren't...
