Helpful staff despite no English. Room 9 was quite warm even when the window was open at night. We made use of the fan whenever we were in the room. Only half of the rooms had windows. Simple breakfast of bread and jam, juice, Nescafé, sliced meat and cheese, choice of cereal and fruit- sometimes canned other times fresh. They... More

We stayed 3 nights in Hostal Desert. It was clean, friendly and a great location on the perimeters of the town. Took 10 mins to walk into the center which we enjoyed doing. the room is cosy but clean and has a good shower. The manager is very helpful. They have a kitchen you can use all day to make... More

Stayed 1 night in single ensuite room (30usd). Everything impressed me. Everything is modern. Bathrooms are great. Wifi strong. Breakfast was 2x better than one would expect. Staff are lovely. Clean. Attention to detail is great. Its better to stay a little out of town (room prices are 2x or 3x the price for the equivalent in the centre) and... More

San Pedro de Atacama is a very expensive town. When I found Hostal Desert with great reviews and reasonable price i didn't think twice. It turned out to be the perfect place to relax after 3 days of Salt Flats tour! The Hostel is located 10-15min away from the Centre of the town. No restaurants nearby, but there is a... More

Marvellous view on the volcano and the desert from the outisde of the... More

I have nothing to complain about my stay in Hostal Desert. Private rooms with good, hot shower. They make you a small lunch bag to take to tours when you have to leave before breakfast. Always had my dolars exchanged over there, better rates than in town. I had to stay a little longer than planned, and they managed to... More

The hostal is very clean and offers a well equipped kitchen for the guests. The room is small but very comfortable. The Wi-Fi didn't work well in our room, but it was Ok in the common areas. The location is not central and the walk to downtown after a day long tour could be tiresome, but it's fair for the... More
