This was the worst hotel of our trip to China. The rooms were filthy and there ws mould everywhere. We had to change our rooms twice because we couldn't stay in the ones they offered us. The staff was also unfriendly and didn't speak any English. Never again!

Very close to the Beihai hotel that is on most maps. It's off the main track so I think it would be quieter than Beihai. Also closer to Lion's Peak for those who want to watch the sunrise. Lion's Peak is an easy 20 minute walk away. Some will complain that the restaurant is expensive but the food was great...

Shilin is a decent hotel considering we are here to enjoy the nature and not to stay much in the room. It would have been more complete if they had some sort of coffee shop for a good evening conversation before retiring.

They charge me 1,480 rmb for one person and the room didn't even have toiletries. So much noise in the night because they let people sleep in the lobby. The service was the worst even if you ask something they answer you in a bad way. Food was ok but nothing special,it was 99 buffet. Don't stay here.

Our room is OK regarding the expensive accommodations in this location. The buffet dinner is really expensive and the food is extremely poor (except the watermelon). During the fall, the heating is not sufficient thus be prepared.

I stayed here overnight recently on a vacation to China, Vietnam and Cambodia. The hotel is overpriced but options are limited on the mountain. My room was very, very noisy, facing the front entrance. I had trouble sleeping. The room is small and yes, the toilet is in the shower. The breakfast was not particulary good. The location was decent,...

Good location, bit quite compare to others. Very expensive and nice staff except one man. He is the only one speaks english but quite impatient and you might feel he is rude, Certainly no smile or small talk. Room is not clean and bed is no different. People still smoking in no smoking area. Location very close to watching sun...

Located on the top of the mountain with too small room and bathroom facilities. If you stay only for one or two nights and spend most of your time trekking around Huangshan area, this hotel will be a good place to stay. Restaurant, breakfast and room all average but with friendly staff

Planning our trip to Huangshan we understood that we want to stay at the top of mountains and that all hotels there would be overpriced. This is exactly relevant to Shilin hotel. In general the hotel is not bad; simply you need to understand that such location cost money, but not the hotel itself, I would rank it as 3*....
