The hotel is a bit far out from the centre of Yangshuo, you have to get a bus/taxi into town. The room was damp and our balcony was dirty. There was building work going on during the day with tools scattered around the pavement. In general not really worth the 600RMB+ (3 nights) we paid for the room when you...

Like many others, we thought we had booked the Yangshuo Mountain retreat. Overall it is a reasonably good place. Our initial disappointment was soothed when we found out that the other place was out of our league anyway. The Mountain View Retreat is located walking distance from the Big Banyan Tree, the Golden Water Cave, and Moon Hill. There is...

we booked this hotel thinking we had booked the yangshuo mountain retreat, which has great reviews. When we turned up at this place it was a total disaster, overground and run down , the rooms smelt damp and it was a place totally uncared for. We took one look around and then phoned another hotel to come and get us...

I loved every bit of my stay there. The service is superb and the staff are warm and friendly people. They speak good English so you have no problem in case you can't speak the Chinese language. It is not too far away the heart of Yangshou. Thus you have time to rest away from the noise of the city...

It's away from the city centre, which is nice to get away from the noise. Quite friendly and small. The food at the restaurant is reasonably good quality. It's family run and the staff are very friendly and helpful and will help you arrange the airport transfers and a ride into town to the shops and restaurants. Very close to...

This has to be one of the worst hotels (perhaps the worst) we have stayed in over 4 decates of traveling. I think that some of the nicer reviews are probably meant for another similar sounding hotel, though we didn't stay in that hotel so can't be sure. This place did have friendly and helpful staff (who, btw, speak virtually...

My girlfriend and I stayed here over China's Labor Day weekend. The staff was friendly, easy to understand, and allowed me to practice my Chinese with them as well. Transport was arranged when needed with no hassle, bicycle rental was a breeze, and the view from the balcony/deck was amazing. Do yourself a favor and bike the trails away from...

Dear Guest, Thank you vary much for you feedback! We are extremely happy to hear that your stay with us was a pleasureable one! We booked this hotel for 4 nights over the long Easter weekend, based on its #19 rating and favorable TripAdvisor reviews. (We ended up staying only 3 nights, then spent our final night somewhere else - see below). Either the past Tripadvisor reviews are outdated, something has changed, or we had poor rooms - but I feel the obligation to...

Not to be confused with the Mountain Retreat - which is what we did, only to be pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Far less touristy as its a tiny bit off the generally beaten path, much closer to Moon Hill than town. Incredibly helpful, welcoming and characterful, with a central courtyard where the staff sit merrily chatting away all day...

We had a really great stay at the Mountain View Retreat - the hotel is perfectly located for some of the main attractions in Yangshuo (Moon Hill, Dragon Cave, Li River etc) and yet still felt peaceful and relaxed. The room was large, clean and had everything you could need. The restaurant at the hotel had a wide range of...
