Cobb Lane is a beautiful, historic home well situated in the Five Points South area of Birmingham (near UAB). My husband and I spent a night in the Periwinkle Room, which features a nifty wedding dress and a light atmosphere (white wicker and painted metal and wood, white ceramics, etc.). It was a very comfortable place to stay for the...

We're glad you liked the PERIWINKLE ROOM which has a Queen Bed, private bath with the original 1898 bathroom of the house (there was only one originally) with its footed claw tub with shower and shower ring above, located on 2nd level. It does have a sun shiny and bright atmosphere. With regard to the sausage croissant bake at breakfast,...

My partner and I had a great experience at Cobb Lane. Specifically, we stayed in the Camelot and then the Enchanting Turret rooms in the Daniel Hassinger home. Sheila is a rockstar that manages both properties and truly turns it into an excellent experience. Visit this place if you can, it's a hidden gem. The horses and room themes were...

We appreciate the praise of these guests. Bed and Breakfasts are different from chain hotels and frequently offer a different travel experience for guests. I'm an architect and city planner, my husband is a professional artist sculptor. That means we enjoy renovating and restoring historic sites then establishing viable community businesses. We offer lodging, weddings and receptions, and sculpture lessons...

Great place to stay if you have always wanted to sleep in a museum. At every turn, there are interesting photos and artifacts, beautiful old furniture, very colourful rooms and interesting art. The home is an easy walk to the UAB campus, some interesting old residential areas and the restaurants and bars of the Five Points Area. The breakfast was...

My husband and I came for a short get-a-way and had been interested in going to a bed and breakfast because we've never been before. When we arrived, the door was locked. A guest greeted us, but told us she couldn’t let us in and that we would have to call the owner for a key. We did as instructed...

It is our Inn's policy that guests enjoy their stay or else they will be refunded. We invite this guest to make contact, identify themselves, for a full refund. The review indicates they did not express their dissatisfaction during their stay so we didn't know their feelings. Had this occurred, we would have refunded them in person and assisted them...

My husband & I stayed in the Zebra Room which had a separate entrance at the back of the house. We met Ira on arrival and he explained that the AC in that room couldn't be altered and it did tend to run a little cold, however a space heater was provided which we did make use of. The room...

We appreciate all of our guests coming which produces income from which mortgages and utilities can be paid after restoring a property back into a tax paying beneficial service. Funds only come from owners, not from other sources, when capitalizing a property on the National Historic registry, such as our 2 Inns. ZEBRA Room has its own entrance, this is...

Stayed in the Camelot room. Nicely appointed rooms. Everything you need for a restful stay. I would recommend bringing some eye covers, as the hallway light comes into the room from above the doors. The home is next to a business district so more light comes into the room thru the curtains. Outside noise is minimal. Breakfast is good. Would...

Our trip didn't work as we hoped. My dad's flight to Birmingham was delayed 3 hours, and mine was cancelled altogether. The innkeeper stayed up waiting for my dad. Then when we got bad family news, the innkeeper was very very sympathetic and helpful. We are grateful for their kindness during a tough time.

Our heart goes out to this very gracious man whose family tried to come see their loved one before he passed over. As it turned out, which no one can control, they could not arrive in time. Despite their sorrow, they were a blessing to encounter. We hope they can come sometime in the future for a restful visit.
