Sleepy Fish Lodge is a clean & well-kept guesthouse with helpful & good staff who provide invaluable services to travellers. Its has a lovely garden with a beautiful fish pond & 2 friendly dogs. The rooms are well-decorated & cosy. There is a woooden bench along the 2nd floor of the guesthouse, facing beautiful mountain tops, for guests to relax...

Sleepy Fish periodically has a wood-fired oven pizza night - fast & friendly service and delicious pizza. I enjoy that they have "real" pizza flavors and not weird combos. We all had such an enjoyable evening - like hanging out at a friend's house (with a super large courtyard/yard). Very family friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Awesome Pizza, went on a special Saturday night where they baked them in a large stone oven outside. All the choices were fantastic - we had 3 of the 8(or10) choices. Excellent family atmosphere. Kids loved it AND loved the friendly golden retrievers. THANKS Max & Tracy!

We stayed in a triple room and had a good amount of space. The beds were comfortable and nicely decorated, and we had a balcony. Food is decent and the outdoor areas are great for relaxing. The location is good, just outside the East Gate. At night it is quiet and peaceful. There are two dogs living on the property,...

The garden is lovely with friendly dogs, chinchillas, and birds. The kids loved especially playing with the dogs. The room was small but had a nice deck. No screens on the windows which lets in tons of mosquitoes. The food was great, but they charge for everything from water to the paper map.

The Sleepy Fish in Dali is our favorite place to stay when we go to Dali. Beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and two adorable Golden Retrievers make this the perfect getaway for our family.

Have stayed in the lodge for 1 night in Dali, a place which I haven't expected too much in my Kunming-Lijiang-Shangrila trip in June. The whole 8 day trip in Yunnan has excellent weather except the night and day we stayed in Dali. Lucky that we stayed in Sleepy Lodge which gave us a wonderful place for a rest. The...

we stayed in three different hostels/guesthouse in dali old town, for here, it's not the perfect location since you have to walk about 10-15 mins to the centre of the old town, anyway, that doesn't bother us, since in dali, it's more about relaxing and comfort, so, sleepyfish is well hidden in a private garden, with cute dogs, fascinating yard,...

Set back a bit from the centre of the Old City, the Sleepy Fish Lodge is conveniently located, though I hesitate to use the word 'retreat' to describe it, as the landscape in Dali itself offers so many exciting, energy-exerting activities (rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, cycling). However, the staff here, both Western and local, are amiable hosts, with a keen...

Maxine reeally has a hand for style and hospitality and for making people feel comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful also. We´ll come back, thats for sure!!!
