Hotel was in quiet side street about 10 minutes walk from the ancient town. Beautifully restored and furnished with lovely objects. Some language difficulties with reception staff although they were helpful but manager spoke excellent English. Two day stay and on the second day the hotel arranged for their car to take us to the Ropeway and Three Pagodas and...

The hotel is a lovingly restored traditional building with modern updates and everything a Western traveler needs. The only complaint about the room is the firmness of the beds. Breakfast is more to Asian taste, but the coffee is good and boiled eggs and local bread (too sweet for European tastes) is provided. The location is excellent; far enough away...

What a calm and peaceful place. Everything is smooth and graceful away from the hussle and bussle of the ancient town...service was very helpful ...this Chinese breast was good and had those lovely yunnan noodles for breakfast..... Its a bit of a walk though from the Ancient town... but this was not an issue... we looked forward to returning back..thank...

We experienced some difficulties in finding the place after arriving by train in the early morning. 'Taxi driver' dropped us of at the south gate (he could not locate the place and thought it was inside the old town). From there it is an approximately 10 min walk to the hotel (Opposite direction of the old town) make sure you...

We booked a suite in this hotel and the price is double that of a single room. The hotel is in an inconspicuous area but the inside of the hotel was very maintained. It was like living in the old gentry China. positives 1) room is spacious and tastefully furnished and decorated. 2) staff is very polite and genteel. The...

Excellent service!! Small and very personal. The place is very clean and beautifully decorated with "Bai" style. There is also a well appointed court-yard to relax. We were served with tea and snacks immediately upon arrival. The breakfast has excellent choices of local food. It is within walking distance to the old town, though the hotel offer free drop off...

This guesthouse is in a traditional Bai structure located about 10 min drive outside of the old town. It has a charming and relaxing courtyard where guests can sit and relax with the local tea and snacks, all courtesy of the guesthouse. The courtyard is tastefully decorated with many bonsai plants and wood furnitures with beautiful carvings. Our room was...
