Very late review considering I stayed here a couple of years ago, though I can confirm after years of traveling that this was one of the best hostels I have ever been to. To start off with, I was a little sorry I wasn't staying in Lijiang as I was driven through it. The old town looked beautiful, as did... More

we did not stay or eat here. in fact, they weren't even open when we were visiting. however, we needed help with bus tickets to the Tiger Leaping gorge and they were kind enough to help us out. i knocked on the door without realizing that they were closed for renovations. surprisingly, they opened the door and helped me arrange... Over the course of our past 9 months of travel in Asia, New Zealand and South America, we can reflect on The Nomad being on of our favorite places of accommodation. The location is great - quiet, but within the quaint walking center of Shuhe and a quick taxi to the Disneyfied Lijiang center. The rooms are small, but smartly... More

You know ... we didn't sleep at Nomad, we slept at another local B&B run by expats. But we did eat at Nomad almost every day during our 8 day stay in Shuhe. We met Peter at a small party, and were somehow drawn to his place. Nomad only serves vegetarian, and even me, as a meat eater, I really... More

We loved the Nomad Hostel! Wonderful atmosphere, great location in Shuhe and Peter - the owner - is super friendly and helpful. The place is quiet and quaint with lots of charme. The vegetarian buffet was a great change to the Chinese food we've been eating for the last couple of months and the breakfast options - if somewhat pricy... More

Staying at Nomad was a real highlight of our stay in the Lijiang area. Perfectly located in the small town of Shuhe, about 10 minutes from the hubub of Lijiang, Nomad guesthouse is a real oasis. The guesthouse is simple, yet cosy, comfortable and has a lovely energy about it. Pieter, the host, was friendly and welcoming and provided us... More

Peter and his staff run a very nice hostel and cafe. Schuhe is a little place north of Lijiang. By bike you can easily visit Lijang (half an hour by bike)and Biasha (20 minutes). Schuhe is by far not so busy. The hostel has nice and clean rooms, with wifi, around a yard. In the cafe they serve lunch and... More

Great location in Shu He (away from the HUGE crowds in Lijiang Old Town). Great atmosphere, beautiful, clean rooms. You can pay 25 yuan to join in a communal vegetarian dinner (or lunch, but we didn't have this) and the food is AMAZING! Definitely recommended. The owner, Peter was incredibly helpful with anything you need, especially with regard to travel,... More

After reading the raving reviews of fellow travelers, there's actually not much that I can ad. Simply all that's stated by them is true. Nomad guesthouse is a special place that radiates tranquility and kindness, with the owners and staff contributing greatly to this positive vibe. You recognize a good place when the staff is working with a sincere smile... More

My husband and I spent two nights in Nomad guest house. We hadn't booked in advance so we were lucky to have a small double room with shared bathroom. We paid 90 rmb per night. Throughout our stay we received a very warm welcome by Peter, Changwei and their colleagues. They were always there, happy to give advice and talk... More
