The Sheraton Guayaquil Hotel garners high marks for its attentive and professional service, with guests frequently lauding the personalized attention and convenient airport shuttle. The serene atmosphere created by quiet rooms and classic decor alongside the commendable cleanliness adds to the comfortable stay. While the hotel's strategic location near the airport and Mall del Sol is a significant plus for travelers, the value for money with affordable rates and quality amenities doesn't go unnoticed. While rooms are spacious and well-liked, some guests have noted issues with noise.

My 6-night stay at the Sheraton Guayaquil was filled with wonderful memories! My room (a very spacious junior suite) was well-decorated and maintained beautifully by daily housekeeping service. Each member of the staff was friendly and helpful, with most having a strong command of English (I was embarrassed to not know more Spanish!); those who didn't understand English fluently were quick to direct me to a staff member who was. A highlight of my stay was the free breakfast and evening meals (yes...enough food to qualify as 'meals') in the 8th floor Club Lounge. Even beer and wine are provided at no extra charge. Both the breakfast and evening meals were part of my room rate but, if you do have to pay extra, I would recommend you do so to get such great food, drink and service. And, should you want additional types of food, the attached shopping mall (Mall de Sol) has dozens of inexpensive dining options. The one drawback for some might be the location. It was ideal for me (5 minutes from the airport) but it was removed enough from downtown and the few tourist-worthy sights in Guayaquil that it takes about 30 minutes (or longer) to get to the riverfront. Indeed, traffic in Guayaquil is heavy and driving is not for the faint of heart. But the hotel itself? An excellent choice with a staff that will take care of you as if you were family.

The Sheraton Guayaquil is a very nice hotel with the best staff that I have ever encountered. We were a group of 14 people travelling to the Galapagos and had a temporary stay at this hotel. Before the trip, communication with the hotel was very easy. They arranged airport shuttles for groups coming in on 3 different flights. They made sure to have 2 sets of connecting rooms so that 2 families with younger kids could be together. They arranged quick-turnaround PCR tests for our group so that we could continue on our vacation to the Galapagos. Finally, when we had a COVID positive scare, they helped us navigate quarantine and then help us get out of quarantine when those testing positive on rapid tests then tested negative on PCR tests. Throughout the entire time, they were quick to answer emails and whatsapp messages and always followed through on every matter. I wish every hotel stay was like this.

Beyond the staff, the hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are comfortable and clean. You cannot drink the tap water, but they provided sufficient bottled water in the bathrooms.

The restaurant buffet breakfast offers American standards along with local Ecuadorean dishes and eggs/omelets cooked to order. Dinner at the restaurant for a group of 8 (including kids) was delicious, offering local food and kid-friendly options. The daily special was a choice of two different fishes, and two people in our group wanted to try them both, So, we ordered one of each and the staff had no problem portioning the fish so that my fish loving friends could try them both. Again, another example of "no problem, we will take care of it".

Pros: Staff, location, cost
Cons: street noise inside the rooms, outdated decor
Pro-tip: some establishments use the word promotion to mean happy hour so if you ask for happy hour and you don’t get anything, try promotion.

Traveled here for the first time in November. Great location in terms of places to eat and ease with which to experience Guayaquil. Across the street via a connecting bridge is el mall del sol. Many places to eat there, but a must try is the Noe Sushi. Excellent quality and worth the splurge. Also one door down was Red crab, see my review but bottom line it was excellent. We largely stuck to seafood due to the proximity and freshness of the seafood here near the coast.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The only negatives about the room is their dated decor and loud street noise. I think that is because most windows have a smaller window that allows it to be opened for fresh air. The glass is also single-paned. We were upgraded to a junior suite and it was very nice. Large, comfortable and great bathroom.

Service was impeccable. The doormen, security, front desk, housekeeping and the like were all genuinely warm, friendly, and happy to see you.

The Sheraton Is ideally located for easy access to the airport and to tourist attractions we wanted to see in our one day in town. The staff was unbelievably attentive in helping with checking on our private tour and providing free shuttle to airport. The upgraded room was spacious, clean but poorly lit and with a noisy cooling system. The pool is sited adjacent to a 3 story parking garage and the exhaust system of the hotel which sort of makes it not a place to hang out. The buffet breakfast offers a good selection. Despite The negatives this hotel is a good choice for a practical stay in Guayaquil.

We stayed here for a few days after visiting Galapagos. On face value the hotel was ok and was located opposite a large mall that served well for supplies. But with security concerns in the city this hotel is somewhat separated from the main attractions and the Malecon 2000. You’ll have to factor in taxis around town.
The room was nice and the linen clean. The bed was very comfortable. There is a nice pool and gym, with hot tubs, sauna and steam room for the more adventurous. It can be very hot in Guayaquil so using all these facilities may be limited. The woman on the pool reception was super friendly and cheerful. Note, no pool or hot tubs on Mondays, maintenance day.
We had access to the executive lounge on the 8th floor for breakfast and evening snacks/drinks. The staff working in this lounge were very friendly and helpful. Limited English but we got by with our pigeon Spanish. The hours of the lounge varied, however, and didn’t seem to follow the published times.
The location of the hotel allows for quite a few fast food restaurants but not really any higher end eateries close by. We ended up using the hotel restaurant Cooks and this was below par throughout. Again there was a language problem so we didn’t really know what to expect. Food turned up at different times and side dishes failed to appear, at all. It was a bit of a circus. One night we ordered pizza and this was a fail on all levels and was undercooked (see separate review).
There was a three day seminar on in the hotel during our stay and the bar area was commandeered throughout, which was slightly annoying.
The eating facilities were disappointing for a hotel of this standing. I would expect a bit more from the Sheraton.
As a BonVoy Gold Elite member we negotiated a late check-out on our last day. However, only minutes after normal check-out time we had two members of staff at the door plus a call from reception (at the same time) asking us when we would be vacating. At this point I had to negotiate another late check-out wondering why the first one was not recorded on file. This is most annoying. Again now what you would expect from the Sheraton.
Reasonable stay with nice room and bed, but don’t expect plain sailing.

I live in a hotel 8 months a year. This hotel along with the staff made me feel like I was actually in my own home. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I had used since leaving my house. The staff seriously waited on me hand and foot! The convenance of its location made it perfect to run across the street to the massive mall and food court to get a snack or look for an item I needed. The restaurant was top tier and reasonably priced. Also this hotel is within a 10 minute cab ride ($5) to the Artisan Mall- where you can find everything Alpaca and tons of quality leather items as well! On my families vacation list!

Good location and décor for the hotel. The best part was the breakfast which was amazingly good. Lots of choices and very tasty. The executive lounge service was very good, Fernando was most helpful and attentive. Good selection of beverages and food in the lounge.

The coffee maker in the room I wasn't a fan of, I prefer a drip maker or a hot pot over the pod coffee makers. Ecuador has such good coffee it seems a shame to use the pods which are not environmentally friendly. Would have liked a microwave in the room like hotels in the US, but I know that is an oddity overseas.

The cardio machines in the gym were very good but the weights left something to be desired. No barbells are available, just dumb bells and a curling bar. The one bench for lifting was a tad wobbly and needed to be replaced. The weight machine is also very dated and not in the best working order. It definitely threw off the routine for the week I was there. The pool is a tad short but long enough for laps and very nice.

We booked this for a night our first night in Ecuador on our way to the Galápagos, to rest and recover before our flight to the islands the following day. We called them when we landed and they had the shuttle driver waiting for us with our name on a sign, very easy to find. It’s about 10 minutes from the airport and they also offer shuttles back to Guayaquil airport upon departure.

We speak Spanish but the front desk receptionist had flawless English. They had a great room service menu which was perfect b/c it was late evening and we were starved; I loved the soup!! They also have a lounge if you are in the Bonvoy program with nice apps and drinks for happy hour.

Eddy in housekeeping was so kind and he made our stay! Mall is also right across the bridge with restaurants or if you need to buy anything like flip flops or pharmacy items.

Great hotel with very well appointed rooms and a great staff! From airport pick up, to front office, to housekeeping and restaurant/service staff everyone is great. It’s also located across from a major shopping mall, ten minutes to the airport and 10-15 minutes to the city’s historic cenrer.

Would like to recognize Jose Icaza who helped us resolve the storage of some frozen items that we didn’t have large enough freezer in the room.

This is a 4-5 star hotel that for US traveler is priced at the 2-3 star level in the US.
Strongly recommend.

The Sheraton Guayaquil is a very nice hotel, conveniently located across Mall del Sol.
The food at this hotel is very good and the staff is very friendly, respectful and offer great service, specially Fernando at the Executive Lounge, he's always anticipating your needs and willing to go an extra mile to make sure you are pleased and taken care of.
The only reason I don't give this hotel 5 stars is because the hallways and rooms need updating, other than that great place to stay.
