We stayed at Hotel Otavalo for two nights. The hotel has a relatively small presence from the street but is a huge surprise when you enter. It is very elegant and well done-from the main courtyard area to the rooms and the restaurant, everything is impeccable. The staff was very friendly, professional and welcoming. Because so many restaurants were closed, we ended up dining in for breakfast and dinner on both days. The food was excellent. Also, the location is perfect for seeing Otavalo. We would highly recommend!
Our night at the hotel Otavalo was our first night in Ecuador, and it could not have been more perfect. This hotel is a gem. Everybody from the bellman to the restaurant staff is very gracious, know and love their city and make you feel at home right away. A perfect first night in Ecuador.
From the moment we arrived, we were totally spoiled. A cocktail upon arrival, a lovely room with French doors open to the fresh mountain air, a breakfast of local buffet and a la carte eggs, to being offered ponchos to wear in the cold and umbrellas to use in the rain. Thanks to Daniel and his amazing staff, we really enjoyed our stay in Otavalo. If you want to be pampered, I would highly recommend staying at this unique and truly gorgeous boutique hotel.
We stayed one night at the incredible Hotel Otavalo. The welcome reception was great, the personal attention by the manager and staff was amazing. The hotel arranged a car and English speaking driver to take us outside the city to an artisanal shop for quality shopping and to lunch at La Mirage which was fancy and delicious. We also went to leather stores in a nearby town again which were of very high quality. Back to the hotel for welcome cocktails in the bar. We met the owners of the hotel (also MamaChuchara in Quito) and had a lengthy conversation. The hotel is filled with art work and the architecture of the refurbished 120 year old building is a total sensory experience. The morning before leaving town the manager had one of the front desk staff(Edison) give us a walking tour of the town and a visit to the “poncho market “ at no charge except tip. We were delighted. The Hotel Otavalo is a true gem and we recommend it highly.…
The hotel, which has been renovated in the past year, was the oldest in Otavalo and is now a beautiful contemporary space. I went to the rooftop bar which has a fantastic view of Imbabura and also had breakfast The staff & especially Juan Jose, were all delightful and could not have been more helpful – they even performed some traditional music for me.
