This is a review of the restaurant at Esencia only. The service here was incredibly slow given we were the only seated table, but the pizza was worth the wait. It took a long time to get anyone's attention and when we did, she didn't return for 10 minutes after dropping off the menus, and then another 10 mins with...

We came here for food and were a bit surprised at the high prices. Food was ok but certainly overpriced for the area. We asked for the wifi code and after some deliberation the waitress said we couldn't have it as they didn't want too many non-permanent guests using it. So that was a bit strange and slightly petty. Nice...

Can't say enough great things about this place :). If you are looking for a modern 5 star high rise hotel this is not it. It's way better. The owner, Alex Novoa, is always around and his cool energy and eagerness to chat really adds to the super chill and awesome vibe that exists here. Surf lessons are a must-...

My family stayed for a week in a local house in El Zonte. When eating-out we tried several places on the beach, and sadly wound up with stomach bugs! Then we found the restaurant at Esencia Nativa. Our first introduction was with Alex, the owner, who is most inviting and pleasant. He had a table set up for us, even...

I had a great week staying here and will be back for sure. Alex and his family & staff were brilliant and the location was ideal: right by the beach, super relaxed with hammocks and comfy seating areas. The food was delicious.

Had a great time staying three weeks at Esencia last August. The place is very safe, relaxed vibes with lots of hammocks, flowers, a pool, a delicious restaurant and very good surfing. The whole setup of the place is very nice with multiple floors and lots of space to chill. The rooms are at fair rates and get cleaned every...

I went here to surf a little and relax. The surf was some of the easiest I have ever done and I would absolutely recommend it for beginners - they rent boards and will give you lessons. The nice thing is that just down the beach there are more serious waves if that´s what you are looking for. The staff...

This hotel is a beautifully located little paradise right next to the beach. Rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean. The property itself is beautiful and well taken care of with a lot of flowers, lounge areas with hammocks and great ocean and river views. The restaurant at the property serves delicious homemade food (try the banana pancakes, delicious!!) for...

Possibly a pretty rough review, this place is very nice looking from the outside and you don't have a great deal of other choices in El Zonte. It has beautiful balconies with hammocks and great views, it also has a pool but it wasn't very clean at all. The rooms are nothing special at all, the prices for them were...
