The best food on Moorea. Very friendly staff, owner on site and available.
Free bicycles. Island tours offered. Coldest beer on the island !
Within walking distance of boutiques, grocery store, restaurants.
I thought air conditioning was a standard in warm climes at a certain price range. In fact, during my 2-1/2 month trip of the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand this was the only hotel that did not offer it regularly to guests. It is...More
The bungalows are nice and cosy, some are sea facing. Sofia, at the reception, was extremely good. Besides the usual recommendations, she would give cost saving tips.

We take the ferry both ways between Papeete and Moorea. There are 2 ferries, the Terevau and the Aremiti, which are both located at the same dock in Papeete, but at neighboring docks on Moorea. The Terevau was the cheaper of the 2 last trip.
They both take about half an hour to get from one island to the other, but are much cheaper than inter-island air and you can take more luggage. The airlines are much more strict about luggage weight since the Air Moorea crash back in 2007.
Contact the hotel you will be staying at prior to travelling to see if they have a shuttle that can pick you up and how much it costs if it is not included. If not, the taxi will be the most convenient as well as the more expensive way to go, but as I recall, they charge a flat rate.
There is also the bus (Le Truck), but it is very unpredictable and undependable as far as when it will leave the dock area to go to the hotels as the drivers usually wait until they have a full load. You might end up waiting hours before they go- we sat there for 3 hours the last time we used it and said never again.
We did not use either last few trips as we now always rent a car for a day or two to do our shopping when we first get there and arrange to have them pick us up at the ferry or walk across the road to AVIS. Then we reverse the procedure on the way back, however, we always stay for at least 3 weeks and have our own cooking facilities.
Sorry I can't be more help.
